2020-2021 Pittsburgh Super Panthers Sports Thread
Fresh of a nailbiting 45-3 loss to Notre Dame and riding a 4 game losing streak, your Pitt Super Panther football team is headed to the cultural capital of the Florida panhandle (Tallahassee) to play the Seminoles. FSU is a 2 point favorite in this game. If you collectively can take 5 minutes from the strokefest in the election threads, please share your thoughts on this game.
-When Coach Norvell was on Todd Graham's staff at ASU, his title was deputy head coach. I'm pretty sure Toddy is the only person that would award that title.
-Kenny might play (?)
-Pitt stinks
-Will be interested to see how Hill does at safety, at least that is what I keep telling myself.
-Will this game be better or worse the stillers/cowboys?
-Chief Osceola was a creek indian, not a Seminole.

Well I played a very fast round of golf and will be home from the hours of 4-7:30. Anyone have any ideas of things to do that don't involve watching Pitt football?

This thinly vailed attempt at humor is beneath you. You watch and suffer like the rest of us. This is the way.Well I played a very fast round of golf and will be home from the hours of 4-7:30. Anyone have any ideas of things to do that don't involve watching Pitt football?

It doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm going to have to watch the game again. I missed the first half because I was out but I did catch most of it on the radio. In fact, I tuned in just as they were getting ready to snap the ball on what turned out to be Travis's long run, so that was a fun "do I continue to listen to this or just cut my losses now" moment. Thankfully, the game pretty much turned not long after that. Got home in time to watch the second half but honestly, I don't really remember much of it because I think the mental exhaustion from a long week caught up to me.
- It goes without saying that this was their most complete win of the season (throwing out Austin Peay, of course).
- Pickett didn't put up huge numbers but was very much in control and threw some really nice "touch" passes. Addison continues to impress me, especially given the quality of coverage he draws.
- I know Marvin Wilson didn't play for FSU but I thought the running game looked mostly...competent? Maybe even good at times?
- The defense looked like the defense from the first quarter of the season. I know FSU is not good and their offensive line is laughably bad for a blue-blood program, but Pitt was also missing five starters from what we all expected to be their core defense for the bulk of this season (Ford, Pinnock, M. Williams, W. Davis, Camp). If you throw in Mathis, Pitt went into this game with their backup strong safety and their 4th and 5th corners.
- I thought the younger players played well. Brandon Hill was one unfortunate missed tackle away from a phenomenal game. I'm going to reserve full judgment on this until after the remaining games play out, but I didn't see much of a drop-off at all there and maybe his presence stabilized some of the issues that Ford's freelancing caused over the previous four games. As disappointing as this season ultimately feels right now, SirVocea Dennis is going to be a big problem for opposing offenses for the next couple of years.
Man, Florida State is just not good.
