Would there be anything worse for baseball than an Astros WS
MLB
Hey. They are doing what they need to do. Tampa had them 3-0 and now its 3-3.A sub .500 team in a short season with expanded playoffs is exactly what MLB deserves.Would there be anything worse for baseball than an Astros WS

Loved the old school way Dusty has employed at times in this series. He leaves Greinke in when fires were burning all around him and Greinke got out of it. Same game, he sends Javier back out for a 2nd inning of work and he mows down the Rays 1-2-3 in the 8th. Both moves were questioned by the announcers because that just doesn't happen nowadays. Then tonite, he bunts Maldonado to get runners on 2nd and 3rd in a 1-0 game and Springer comes through with the 2-run single. The analytics geeks were crying in their Yetis of wheatgrass smoothies on that one.
Now do I want to see the Astros win Game 7? Hell no.

Not sure how to handle this take from OP. On one hand, i respect the hell out of OP’s golf takes. On the other hand, eff the astros, eff dusty baker and eff any takes that involve compliments to those jagoffs. Grenkie I’m ok with becuase of the bat tosses and willingness not to be a beotch content on throwing 100 pitches in 5 innings.

In my fight against the game becoming full-time analytics, I'll take any small victories I can get even if they are conducted by a team whose 3 or 4 top hitters should be watching with their manager on some desert island.

I wasn't rooting for the Astros by any means, but if the Dodgers were able to dust their asses in the WS for revenge it would be been great. Now they aren't dead, but it appears unlikely. I hope the Rays beat them 20-0 in game 7

In the Battle of Milquetoast v. Evil; the Rays prevail.

Kevin Cash is freakin lucky that pulling Charlie Morton out of the game after he was cruising through the lineup didn't come back to haunt him. One little pothole and he yanks the guy. I was almost rooting for Houston to tie the game at that point or any other point just to make Cash look like a jackass.

Better to pull a guy too early than too late. Stark contrast in his OPS against the 3rd time thru the order versus the first two.Kevin Cash is freakin lucky that pulling Charlie Morton out of the game after he was cruising through the lineup didn't come back to haunt him. That said... Charlie mf Morton. What a stud... so happy that guy was able to become this player. Frustrating that our idiot regime couldn't help him corral his abilities.

My contention always is that you don't know what you have coming out of that bullpen. Morton gave up a walk and a hit and had a 3-0 lead and was only on 66 pitches and had looked strong throughout. I give him at least one opportunity to get out of the mess. They're lucky they got out of that inning with Anderson and then went through a clean 7th inning before Houston dented the board in the 8th.Better to pull a guy too early than too late. Dodgers-Rays...what most thought it would look like when these playoffs started. Just took a real roundabout way of getting there. We're back to the normal 2-3-2 way of doing things so there's days off and maybe all you need is a 3-man starting staff to get through the series.

Didn’t he say that to his own bullpen? Still loved it regardless
