I love waking up to crisp, cool weather. It was like 47 here, so could still have the windows open at least halfway or so in the bedroom.

We are entering the part of the year where there's a 40-degree swing between the overnight low and the daytime high. 56 when I took the doggo out at 6, forecast to hit 97 this afternoon.

Yup...the diurnal swings in spring and fall are the best.

If you step outside today in Pennsylvania, you will probably notice that it is pretty hazy out. Those aren't clouds, that's smoke from the CA/OR wildfires that has drifted eastward. It made for one hell of a sunset last night.

I did notice, the sun was a just a perfect, crisp orb. But I didn't put two and two together. Thanks.

Yeah, at 6:45 last evening the sun looked very similar to a full moon. I took a photo of it through binoculars with my phone.

I noticed that last night... didn't realize it either. Crazy.

My mom and sister have already lost power. Track has shifted a little east but that's not going to help much.

These rainfall forecasts are insane.

Scary **** man. One of my favorite things about SWPA is the general isolation from disastrous weather other than the occasional blizzard. Hope they come out of this okay.

Thanks. They are doing fine. My mom said she heard nonstop snapping of branches and limbs through the night last night so can only imagine what their cleanup will be like when this is done. They have a small "farm" on a couple of acres with a couple horses and chickens, so I imagine cleanup will be a lot of work

Had to turn the heat on last night for the first time since spring. Dipped down into the 30’s here.

I turned the heat on but it never had to kick in. Only down to the mid 40s. Love this time of year.

I did it at 1:30 am after rocking my little one back to sleep. Felt a bit chilly in the house, came downstairs and the indoor thermometer said 66, with 38 outside. Figured it was only getting colder from there.

Yeah I was surprised how fast the temperature plummeted last night. Clear skies and no wind will do that.

Supposed to get in the low 70s today. Hopefully no smoke.

We are under a flood watch beginning tomorrow for the remnants of Sally. We're expected to get 3-5" Thursday and Friday.

In other good news, it was 58F this morning...which felt glorious. Pretty rare to see 50s this early, but we've got a few days of that coming up.

It is going to be a lovely, cool September. So happy we are not getting any of those early fall 90s that seem to come often.

This forecast is absolutely epic. September is my favorite month of weather, followed by October.

Yup, took my daughter on her first official bike ride... We did 11 miles on the Northwest Lancaster River Trail
