Man... Thomas was -1 and then the wheels fell off on the back nine. He has so much talent but just can't get out of his own way.

Did you see his whiffed putt on 6? That was the difference in making the cut.Being a Rickie fan will never not be a blue ball experience.

Observations thru 2 rounds:
--I think the leaderboard starts with Koepka and Fleetwood. I don't know what went on during those practice sessions Brooks had last Monday and Tuesday in West Palm and Memphis but whatever it was, he found something. He looks like the Koepka of old in majors and as long as he keeps hitting greens, I think he has a great chance to walk off with the Wanamaker for the 3rd straight year. Fleetwood had a hell of a round on Friday and whether or not that can be backed up on Saturday remains to be seen. He's gonna break through eventually in one of these.
--Haotong Li...he's got pedigree. He played on the Presidents Cup team in December and won in Dubai over Rory in 2018. It would be kinda funny if he won the PGA wearing the hat of a sponsor who our dumbass leader wants to ban. Kid is crazy long off the tee and while he has a bit of a temper, which doesn't work well in a major atmosphere, he did shoot a 63 in the Open at Birkdale a couple years ago.
--Speaking of pedigree, Day & Rose are sitting there at 6 as well and I'd expect to see JDay hold that position. Not so sure about Rose. This is the first time Rosey has looked like a semblance of himself since the restart. Day figured something out in Dublin a month ago and he's been on fire the last 3 tournaments.
--Biggest guy to keep your eye on during moving day -- Daniel Berger. He's gone Win-T3-MC-T2 in this 4 events since the restart and I'd say he's pretty damn warm at the moment. Back to back 67s show he's consistent and certainly confident.
--It's interesting how much difficulty the players have had in finding fairways this week. The field has hit just over half the fairways thru 2 rounds. If that figure held, it would be the 4th-worst accuracy in a major since 2008. Given the chilly, moist air and the thickening rough, it's not going to be a good combination if you can't find the short stuff. I was fortunate enough to play this course back in 2012 and somehow, I found 9 fairways so it can't be THAT tough. It's been fun looking at the scorecard from that day as the tournament has been going on.
--Speaking of 2008, this will be the first time since then that I've had a weekend off during a major. I'm definitely not complaining and I'll be ready to fire up the grill for a little primetime golf on Saturday night.

Any Vegas prop bets about fisticuffs breaking out in that group? I'd like to get in on that action.

Well that was a fun ride on a Saturday evening. Anyone's ballgame tomorrow (except Finau cuz he can't close a door let alone a golf tournament) and it's going to be won by whoever is best putting from 10-20 feet. That person was DJ today. It's been 10 years since the mishap at Whistling Straits so there's a ton of redemption at stake there. I'm a little surprised that nobody opened up a bigger lead, though that 65 out of DJ was awfully sporty even with the double on 9. I think it comes down to DJ, Koepka, or Dechambeau. But...Champ has ties to the area and he has plenty of experience on these type of courses and his last 36 holes have been really well-played. He could be a big time dark horse who can get lost in the weeds of the other behemoths that are grouped around him. Plus, in this current era of racial disharmony, a win by Champ can possibly help things in that department.

Yeah I don't trust Morikawa in a final round... Yet.
I really liked Scheffler's game yesterday. I'm going to go completely unconventional and pick him for tomorrow.

I think DJ holds on. But could see almost any of the -6 group making a run too

Its crazy... a 7am tee time on a summer week day is $300 for a non-resident but only $97 for a resident. And $200 if you live in the bay area.
If I'm ever in that God forsaken city I might just have to pony up.

If you're in that area and you're gonna spend that money on golf, you might as well drive the 2 hours south to the Monterey Peninsula and try your luck there.

Played Reserve Run just outside of Poland, OH.
Felt like I played like crap but came out with an 82, which yet again ties my best round (3rd time).
I only hit 2 fairways but 56% of the greens in regulation. Two 3 putts though. Weird round.

I'd like to see Finau pull it out. Otherwise I'm fine with anyone on the leaderboard but Bryson winning it

I think I’m rooting for one of the young guys (Wolff, Morikawa, Champ, Scheffler) but am ok with all of the leaders, even Bryson, winning it
