Normally it's said facial hair makes you look a couple years older.

He looks like he's in his mid-50s sans beard.

Justin Thomas returns to #1 this week since Rahm and Rory’s finishes were so blah. Now for the fun part - there are five guys that have a scenario to become world #1 after the PGA and one of them is NOT Brooks Koepka.

As some may have noticed, Bones Mackay was filling on JT’s bag in Memphis and will do so at PGA this week. JT and Phil were in the same pairing yesterday. It was the first time Bones and Phil had been in the same group since their separation. Memphis was their final act together back in 2017. All kinds of juice. It was icy on the first tee with the two not even acknowledging each other. Thanks to the protocols, we were robbed of the post-round handshake on 18. Then after signing his scorecard, Phil beat a hasty retreat to avoid us even though he finished tied for 2nd. Someone was a bit salty to get upstaged.

Considering that no one holds it long enough to be considered dominant, most fans likely don’t. The story with #1 is more about how much it gets passed around rather than a dominant force holding on to it.

So I guess they didn’t maintain their friendship like Phil said they would?

True. hopefully this whole crew shows up to these upcoming majors and compete. I like the idea of having a bunch of really good but equally good dudes playing good golf at the same time

Yes there have been some fun tourneys the past few years when that has happened, hopefully this major season includes a few.

The memories Phil and Bones made together, the 2004 Masters being the most obvious one. I just don't get how all of that can be thrown away so quickly.

Same. Last thing I remember is the “time for a change and we’ll always be friends” announcement.

I'm golfing for the first time in my life on Saturday in Poolesville, MD. Haven't even swung a club since 1999. This is going to be a **** show.

Fun fact, this course is where Bootie and the Blowfish recorded their Only Wanna Be With You video. Okay so maybe it isn't fun...

have plenty of golf balls with you and know when to give up looking for yours so as not to slow down the group behind you.

10 stroke max. Anything under 180 I'll consider a victory.

4 holes into our 4 ball match and we got washed out. What a buzzkill. Up 2 holes at least

I pretty much give it about 12 seconds before I take a stroke and drop

The way I heard it last week was that Bones is more disappointed about it than Phil is. For as much as the 'people's champion' that Phil is, he can be a bit petty with stuff. Yesterday was a perfect example. It was bad enough that Phil couldn't put anything together but to have the winner come from the same pairing and it be his former caddy, that had to gnaw at him a lot. And he knew he would get questions about it from us and he wasn't having it. Not sure if he has a press conference scheduled in San Fran this week (doubtful) but it would be interesting if someone is able to ask him about it and see what he says. But it was pretty telling to see Koepka, Fowler, and both their caddies fist-bump Bones when they passed by him on the way to scoring.

We've got major golf - sounds like it's going to be a bomber's course but we'll see. Got Rahm in my one and done pool and bet on Tiger to make the cut, Phil to miss it and Rory to top 10. Excited to watch this week

Gotta love an organization who takes a ton of money so they can have 12 prime hours of their major championship on a subscriber-only online medium. Piss on the PGA and on ESPN for this programming decision of having no golf on actual TV until 4pm today and tomorrow.

Commercial-less ESPN+ coverage has been great though imo but yeah. I'm happy I was already a subscriber or I'd be pissed

How is Zach Johnson -5

I've legit never heard of that Chinese golfer at the top.

Great leaderboard. Reaaaaaaly need JT to make the cut. He has been underachieving lately.

He showed up to the President's Cup without a caddy and spent the awards ceremony on his phone. So of course he's leading a major after 36
