Thanks dudes. How far from where they currently are? Yard is big enough but I dont want to put it too far away

I recall they attacked our strawberries and our potatoes pretty heavily, and my mom would always put the trap about 30-50 yards away from those and it took care of the problem. I just wouldn't put it less than 10 feet away. Give it a good bit of distance. Maybe a corner of your property or something, unless of course you live on acres of land.

I hate those things. They attack my honeycrisp apple tree but for some reason leave the golden delicious tree alone. Gonna have to check into the beetle bag. I usually just use Sevin dust.

That's because golden delicious are garbage and the beetles are dadholes.

The small tree along the back fence between my yard and my neighbor’s was literally covered in spotted lantern flies. I spent 30 minutes out there with my bug-a-salt and wiped out hundreds. Tore the skin clean off my damn trigger finger, too.

F those things. By the way i used Eight dust and eliminated many squarsh bugs and Japanese beetles. Also used yellow sticky sheets to catch a bunch of little jerkoffs. Pest problem appears to have been abated, however it seems like one of my National Pickling cuke plants may be a casualty to bacterial wilt. We shall see.

Also I've got 4 jars worth of pickles already from my 3 plants. They're killing it.

Planted 3 zucchini plants in containers (large ones) and they're all doing better than I expected. Last year I got 1 fruit from 2 plants directly in the ground. Idk what happened. This year I've had a few from each and thats with throwing away maybe 60% before full maturity due to blossom end rot.

Tomatoes - weird that of the 6 varieties I planted, 4 of them are very short and bushy (despite being indeterminate). My tomatoes usually get way too damn tall.

Peppers - they have been kind of lame but are just now starting to pick up a bit. Probably going to have a big harvest around labor day

Building an 8' x 8' raised bed by my deck. Noticed dirt was cheap at Lowe's today. It was 15% off at my local store. (This is not all of the bags I bought).

Using manure from the chickens as well.

Project 2 of 6 to completely re-landscape the front of the house.

The latter. They give me free reign to treat it as "my house", within reason of course.

There used to be these gargantuan shrubs that had gone wild which I cut down a couple of years ago. I let the soil kind of "sit" for three years and treated it to get all the acid out of it. So now I'm going back to it and putting in what I want.

blossom end rot has ravaged my tomatoes. What can ya do, rain, dry, rain... It will do it.

Speaking of dry. Does anyone here collect rain water? Is there a way to do it that doesn't make your house look like you're a tree hugging tard?
