0.14" of rain over the last 11 days, lawn is struggling. Worst part about summer, you can get absolutely nothing while someone five miles from you gets three downpours in a week.
Yup, summer convection sucks. I swear to God every single storm has missed us over the last week. My lawn is starting to look like the Dust Bowl.

Sitting outside trying to enjoy the last temps in the low 60s we will probably have until for two weeks. The first half of July is looking BRUTAL.

Monday thru Saturday all forecast highs 90 or above. Dew points in the upper 60s at minimum so the humidity will be terrible too. On the bright side probably won't be mowing my grass for two weeks either

Weather bucket list item for me is to go out there during severe season. Those shelf clouds are insane.

We used to drive out to Colorado every other summer and seeing those in Kansas and eastern Colorado was always a highlight, even as a 5 year old.

We need rain badly.

The farmer by me for 700 bales of first cut and ended up with 60 second cut. Basically cutting enough to feed for the week. Corn is turning tassel at like 3 feet tall. They're probably looking at a 30% or more loss of yield when making silage.

Guys cant ever catch a break.

Check out this GIF. Sea breeze coming from the Atlantic interacting with this line of storms. You can see the sea breeze on radar. As soon as it hits that line it blows it up.

That's why Florida gets so many storms. Multiple sea breezes.

I used to be able to handle this heat but not anymore. I go outside to do some yard work or other stuff and have to get back in the AC after a short time. Not sure how other old timers make it down in Florida. Maybe some can get used to it. I can't.
So I just post more on 5af.

There is an insane severe storm system smashing the Greater Philadelphia area right now. Flash flooding everywhere, some spots are pushing 6" of rain and more.

Yea, the storms seemed to manifest out of nowhere. Thankfully, no major damage personally, but I have dead pine needles plastered all over my backyard.

I'm jealous. I mean I hope no one perishes, but man. I'd love for an hour long torrential down pour right now.

Just over an inch of rain here, finally got hit. There were reports of half dollar (!!!) sized hail out in Central Lancaster County.

It takes me an hour to water my garden, flowers, and all the new grass I planted within the past two weeks. God I would kill for rain like that.

What an insane day yesterday in Eastern PA. Watch how this super storm blew up. Pretty epic severe outbreak.

The outflow (supercooled air brought to the surface by the storm) blew out ahead of it for dozens of miles. It was so intense it showed up as a thin green line on Doppler.

Looks like some pretty vigorous storms are popping up over in Ohio. Let's see if they make it to PA.
