I want to start watching, and will probably go the German/subs route, as I’ve read it’s superior to the dubbed version.

The Floor is Lava on Netflix is stupid fun. I put it on in the background when I'm packing boxes and stuff for the move.

I can't tell how embellished it is though. You have the host (Rutledge Wood) screaming about how impossibly hard some of the jumps are, and then the contestant literally just steps to the next obstacle without leaping. One instance was so overplayed he actually jokes about overselling it.

I got through about 5 minutes of "play" and shut it off.

Yeah, it's dumb. I couldn't sit and watch it attentively but it was good background noise when packing up my study.

Rutledge Wood being employed is never not amazing to me.

Eh, he has "a" personality and has an ability to come up with commentary on the fly, regardless of how outlandish it is. That's not an easy skill to master.

Also, with things like this, I wonder how much of it is just what he's told to do by the producer vs just him being him.

The only thing that I know him from is Top Gear USA. In that Foust was obviously the best, but Rutledge was 2nd. Then there was a cavernous drop to that 3rd guy. Mr New York made me change the channel more than a few times.

However, who names their kid "Rutledge"???

My hope is that by doing stuff like this he has less time to be a dancing clown/mascot at sports car racing events.

He's still Continental's man, so probably not.

Athlete A was really well done. I don’t think there was really anything new, but told the story well, focusing a lot on Maggie Nichols, obviously.

Did anyone watch and like the Dark Crystal series on Netflix? I remember being excited about it then never watched it. Not sure I care now.

It's pretty incredible. Goes pretty hardcore on the dark crystal mythos. If you are a fan of the movie, you should like this very much. Everything about it is so well done.
