Red onion is superior for eating raw. Sautéing? Yellow onions are king (honorable mention to white onions).

People in my area have been known to set off fireworks as late as 2am. One time there was an explosion so strong it knocked my Pirate wall clock off the wall, and broke it. Had it since the Three Rivers or early PCN Park days.Exactly."Lets honor those who died by being killed in explosions and being shot by shooting guns and making explosions." -Trash.
They’ve been shooting off fireworks all weekend around here. Don’t care, except that they’ve been doing it damn near 10pm while my kid is trying to sleep.

Fireworks as part of an event facilitated by an organization = cool
random rednecks or idiots who bought shitty but loud fireworks = annoying as ****
way back when in high school, I was part of a community concert band and we played a July 4 concert in a public park. Our finale was William Tell Overture and fireworks would go off towards the end. It was pretty awesome

Welp, we fell asleep last night, and at some point in the middle of the night, somebody started to randomly set off fireworks.

Yeah, no chance I'd ever hire a contractor who couldn't itemize the work - especially if it's a large/expensive job.

down here all the cities and parks are canceling July 4th fireworks. I'm predicting that will lead to a HUGE increase in drunken neighbors setting off their own which will lead to all the neighborhood dog owners complaining about it on social media.Fireworks are dumb...

I wonder what the cross-section is of out of control house fires caused by home fireworks in July and deep frying frozen turkeys in November...? I imagine there's a fair bit of double dippage there...

We have two pots with strainers built into the lids. Every time my wife cooks and I clean up there’s one of those pots and a **** regular strainer that both need washed.

Haha, we had a contractor give us an estimate on renovating one of our bathrooms up in SF. He gave a pretty thorough breakdown of the work, but when he sent his standard contract he was asking for a down payment and payment schedule that was, frankly, against CA law. (He structured the agreement such that he basically would have something like 75% of the money before actually starting work.) Without getting into the specifics (it got pretty granular), when I pointed that out to him he said, "I'm afraid I cannot work with you," and bailed.
Flash forward 18 months, we had since moved back to LA. Out of the blue, I got a call from the secretary in his office asking if we were still interested in doing that renovation. Two days later, he emailed me.

Why the hell can't I print first class postage through usps.com? I'm not paying double for Priority mail for a return.

Don't you have to sign up for their monthly service or something at stamps.com? I stopped by the post office since it was early, and was in and out in 30 seconds.I had the same gripe a few weeks ago. We had a guy come in to quote on redoing all our flower beds around the house and taking out an old dying rhododendron last Monday. He said it would take till this Monday to get a price back. It's now the following Thursday. So even if he quotes it will be July before he can come out and we go on vacation for a week- look, if it's going to only look good for half the summer just leave it and it can look like crap till next Spring.

Organic/natural peanut butter. Tastes great, but I shouldn't need to block out 10 minutes for a forearm workout when I want a sandwich. Emulsifiers are our friends.

I bought a more expensive jar of almond butter, and holy sht it's frustrating to try and not get a bite without getting a mouthful of oil.

The dudes on DUI Cycles are far more annoying than the cyclers.

Drunk-cycles are a MUCH bigger thing down south I think, probably because of the climate. When living on the coast in NC it was common to see someone taking their kid to school on a 49cc scooter.
