But I thought everyone said that Botterill was a GM god and the only reason that Rutherford had any success?

I remember that too. Mostly at the old place.

The feeling for a while now around hockey circles was that Botterill was in over his head...

Trading away Conor Sherry was the final straw.

Well, he has only made 1 trade as GM and according to the guys on NHL show guys it was a consensus "Grand Slam" for him.

I remember when Maurice became the Whalers coach. He must have been 35 or so.

I've met Blash before and I know a lot of folks that know him...he's a good coach imo. I'm impressed that they're sticking by him after some mid-70s Capitals like seasons...I think it speaks a little bit to how tough it is to judge coaches just based on record and (general) nonsense like line combos...

n! - Mo was like 29 or 30 when he got the job in Hartford...one of the youngest ever.

I think Blashill is getting the benefit of the doubt from Yzerman. It's not like he's had a lot to work with in terms of the roster. Will be interesting to see how long that leash lasts though.

Did Pegula just now learn that they hired a failed soccer chairman as head coach?

The source is questionable to say the least, but this is a hell of a headline.

I came here to post the same thing! This article gives a few more details about how crazy the "New Rasputin" is. So, if Datsyuk has been his spiritual follower for 10 years... :scared:

Just three days after a former major junior hockey player alleged that he was forced to do cocaine in a bathroom as a rookie with the Kitchener Rangers in 2016, two former CHL players have launched a class-action lawsuit alleging that players aged 15 to 17 were, “routinely victims to hazing, bullying, physical and verbal harassment, physical assault, sexual harassment, and sexual assault.”
