Kinda bummed the 4th-and-15 proposal didn't even make it to the team voting stage.
But I am glad they changed the dead ball rules that some teams *cough*cough* took advantage of the rather unsporting effect in recent years. Now, if you take a dead ball penalty late in a game (like a deliberate delay of game on 4th down), the clock doesn't restart when the ball is set. Stays stopped until the ball is snapped. It was funny to see Belechick do this to the Jets and be all smug and s**t, and then absolutely lose his mind when Vrabel did it to him in the playoffs. Such hoot.

I think that was one of my favorite non-Steelers games ever!

Again? Rough.

Fair play to you; it was talked about in the COVID thread, not the NFL thread.

Except they could, they just don't want to hurt the Ref Union."At the end of the day," ESPN officiating analyst John Parry said, "the NFL does not have a safety net to fix a game-changing egregious miss heading into the 2020 season. That can't be in today's world."
NFL
They did not have a 'safety net' the one year of the review rule, either. League average for all other challenges is something like 45% success by coaches; PI reviews were over 90% in favor of the initial call on the field.
So many penalty calls have at least some degree of subjectivity. Don't subject them to review.

I'd be happy if there was just a common sense sky judge that could see what everyone else in the country is seeing and prompt the officials to set things straight. Take a more holistic approach to providing a more complete on field product instead of self-handcuffing and acting like it's someone else's fault your **** is broken.
NFL
I mean it's expected that refs will miss calls at the speed the games played and the bad angles they'll inevitably find themselves in. Having an extra ref to see those angles and buzz in if anything is egregiously wrong just makes sense imo. I'm sure there's politics in it with the on field refs but just get over it
NFL
That's kind of what I meant by common sense holistic approach. I have wanted, for a long time, infractions away from the play to be systematically ignored. I know it's a huge slippery slope of subjectivity which creates its own problems, but seeing stuff like long runs from scrimmage or a kick/punt return called back because someone 20 yards from the runner was held can go away. It's the same line of thinking.
NFL
Much like the Tampa Bay season, that will probably be a *skip*.

Looks like a crescent moon that has the exact same color as the ram horn.

"I haven't spoken with Colin [Kaepernick], not sure where he's at as far as in his career, what he wants to do. But Colin definitely fits the style of quarterback for the system that we're going to be running. I'm very confident and happy with the three quarterbacks that I have, but you can never have too many people waiting on the runway." -- Chargers' coach, yesterday.
Hmm.
