Good stuff. They are finally reopening the county parks (huge wooded areas) on May 6. About damn time

My parents used to take me and my sister there all the time when we were little. Always had a good time. I haven't been there in probably 10ish years. We went to Bilger's Rocks by clearfield yesterday and it was incredible. Haven't been there in over 10 years, so it brought back some good memories. Imgur isn't uploading my pictures, so I'm trying to figure out how to get them posted...

Finally allowing me to post some pics from there. That's about how long it was since I've been there. They put money into it and cleaned it up nice. Great pics! I still remember when my mom took my sister and I there when I was about 10. I just remember how much I enjoyed exploring all the little canyons and hidden spots.

Twin Lakes in Westmoreland was slammed last weekend, and their paths are super narrow. People suck.Good stuff. They are finally reopening the county parks (huge wooded areas) on May 6. About damn time

Spent 5 hours on the Laurel highlands trail yesterday. Probably need another week or so for the mt Laurel bloom, but some were starting to pop. Saw some deer, grouse and a ratsnake. View was spectacular

If you start at the end (Seward), you get 1500 ft elevation gain in first 3 miles, so if you are looking for a great workout, there you have it

Nice pic eddy. I've never done anything past a few miles beyond the turnpike crossing. Some day I want to do the eastern part of the trail.

Nice eddy. I've seen the overpass along the Turnpike and often wondered about that trail.

This gives you an idea of the trail. It's beautiful, but challenging

Haven't done that since boy scouts. Did my wilderness survival merit badge up there one weekend.

No shelter at all, lol. We got to take a sleeping bag and a mess kit I think, that was it. They provided food and water. I remember sleeping under the stars. I must have been 13 or 14 at the timeNice, you guys stay in those Adirondack shelters?Haven't done that since boy scouts. Did my wilderness survival merit badge up there one weekend.

Back to back camping weekends. Cons: Hot. Pros: no rain this weekend. Good food. may or may not have violated state park policy on alcoholic beverages and gotten just drunk enough without regretting it. good hike. no ticks.

I've never done the stars at cherry springs but I've fished in those parts. if you get the time, drive down to Hammersley wild area. Just an awesome place.

I'm planning on taking lil mac to trent beach to swim on Friday. It's been years since I've been there.

My brother spent the weekend here and loved it. We are staying in a cabin around coudersport for a few days. Our plan is to check out cherry springs park for stars, but we wanted to go to the pa grand canyon. Is there a good way to drive through this for views? From what I can tell, looks like Leonard Harrison State Park and Barbour Rock overlook are the places to check out for views. Anyone know any other specific spots to check out?I've never done the stars at cherry springs but I've fished in those parts. if you get the time, drive down to Hammersley wild area. If you go south of there, check out Hyner View, off 120 between Renovo and Lock Haven. Take your hang glider. My brother spent the weekend here and loved it. Uncovering PA is a pretty decent resource for different places to check out. www.uncoveringPA.com

You can do the wagon ride, https://pacanyon.com/wagon-ride.html - we did it last year and we thought it was worth it.I dont know of any other ways to see the canyon well other than riding a bike through it or going to one of the parks. driving on 414 doesnt really show you much of the canyon
We also went off the beaten path a bit to fish with my son and nephews. It was way off a back road someplace, I don't remember but wasn't too far from the wagon ride. Beautiful and so peaceful.
