Please just give Beatty, Partridge, and maybe now Collins one-year deals and at the end of each one, hand them a blank check and ask them how much they need to come back for another year.

Newton’s tape is pretty impressive. He doesn’t look incredibly fast but he spends a lot of time running away from opposing defenders in those highlights. That’s saying something as he’s playing at a fairly high level in Virginia. Kid can break tackles well, too. Venables was recruiting him for Clemson, and I saw he also took visits to UPS and UNC after visiting Pitt.

Also always love to see players from the VT/UVA collective backyard come to Pitt.

Narduzzi said after the season one of them had a good offer and Lyke stepped it up to counter offer to keep them. He didn't specify which one, but it seems Pitt will do what they can to keep them. Obviously one of the deep pocket blue bloods will be able to out bid them, so hopefully Pitt can give them what they need to make them happy, even if they can't outbid many others.

I think it came out that it was Partridge and an offer from Texas and that it was low seven-figures for a guy who is a position coach (albeit a former HC and their best recruiter).

At some point if these guys keep killing it they'll get offers to be a coordinator or HC eventually and it just won't be feasible to keep them. So we need to turn these recruiting wins into real wins soon imo

I don't think that is a worry for Partridge, and Beatty has had multiple OC jobs so something is going on there.

I am generally on the fence about Narduzzi, but the past two recruiting classes really have been ecouraging. The recruiting ranking really isn't relevant to me....its hard to say that this is a nationally relevant class (regardless of the ranking) without more 4 star prospects.

That being said, Pitt has chronically been short on depth since who knows when, and these recruiting classes are full of guys with actual good offers. I don't know if the 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes are enough to justify giving Nard dog more time, but it definitely helps his case.

I posted it at the end of the last thread. But would there be anything more Pitt than a top 20 class, 5 of these guys on defense projected to get drafted, and then a pandemic wiping out the season?

I'd say pitt having the best season of my lifetime and not being able to attend a single game would be very pitt

Well Pitt coming back from a delayed start, only to lose it's first game against a bum ohio team would be pretty Pitt.

Justin Morgan’s dreads comment seemed odd given that Patrick Jones has had some massive dreads since the day he showed up.

I will say it's probably a bad look for Duzz to not say anything though when it comes to recruiting. Coaches will eat that up

Funny, completely different comments from different players on the team. Negatives from 3 players that left.

As for people getting pissed at coaches and players for not making comments, the national media were dumping on Dabo for not making a comment. Someone interviewed Dabo on this, and he said something to the affect of "we all need to be good to each other through God, and there is a time and place to listen and learn instead of speak about things you don't know about". And got blasted for it because it didn't fit the cookie cutter narrative some want, even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said, and it's honestly probably closer to the truth of what we should be doing.
