I believe I recall seeing agave nectar in grocery stores in the sweetener section. It's basically just a sugar syrup.

Been experimenting with drinks a little more with time off. Found a juicer I’ve never used and found that margaritas with fresh lime juice are fantastic.
One ounce fresh lime juice, one ounce agave nectar, two ounces of tequila. Best margarita anyone could ever possibly make.
Agave nectar? Sounds expensive. I’ve done 3-2-1 ratio of tequila, triple sec, fresh lime. Where would I get agave nectar?
At this point I think anywhere. Usually find it next to honey on your grocer’s shelves.

Oh, that sounds easy then. I could probably do with the little less alcohol the triple sec brings anyway.

It's in our state liquor stores with the other mixers and accessories...costs like $8-$10 probably.

If I recall, you live in the south...where they pour twice-sugared syrup in your water at brunch, I imagine it is available at your local grocery store...

Edit: did not see the page break. What they ^ said... :/

Yeah, I can do that or make a simple syrup. I’ve been making old fashioneds with sugar cubes and water along with the bitters, orange, and bourbon lately. Should just add some of the agave nectar to the collection.

Ohio is now requiring people to have a valid Ohio or Military ID to buy alcohol.

My 2nd shipment of out of state booze is on its way. 2 bottles of Greenhook Gin and another 44 North huckleberry vodka.

Tried this tonight. Very good, but a tad sweet. Think I’d just cut the nectar down a little.

My wife prefers her margaritas more sour so I keep the same ratio of 2 ounces tequila to 2 ounces mixers and just use more lime juice than agave.

Gonna keep experimenting, but just did 1.5 tequila, 1 triple sec, .5 lime, splash of nectar. Good, but like the idea of equal parts tequila and everything else.

Still no luck getting on the Fine Wine and Spirits website. I don't drink many spirits, but enjoy a rum and coke or white Russian here and there. Vodka supply is getting low.

Any other bloody mary drinkers? Favorite mixes? I will often have one on Sunday Mornings if we're not going anywhere for the day.

I have been using this one lately, made right here in Beaver County. It's pretty good.... Generally use Ketel One in mine.

Speaking of which, it's getting to be Bloody Mary time.

I did curbside pickup with our liquor store last week and it was super easy. Called, the guy picked up and was super helpful in also grabbing a couple recommended wines for my wife, and then I drove over and got it. Did it all in about 15 minutes total.

I've pretty well held off. I ran out of some of my cordials that I use for cocktails, but I still have whiskey, vermouth, and bitters, so I'm set there. Might stop by at some point next week and restock before we go back to red.

I know there’s economies of scale involved, but it amazes me that Four Roses Small Batch (chef’s kiss) is almost half the price of Wigle’s offerings.

Regular Four Roses is my typical mix bourbon. Want to try the small batch.
