Vanessa Bryant is suing the helicopter company and the pilots estate

I don’t know so much what that actually means but that seems REALLY shitty.
Except that the pilot is 100% to blame due to poor decision making and ignoring instructions.

I understand that but the dude **** died. A woman whose family will never have to worry about money suing his estate seems like spitting on his grave.

He also took 8 innocent people with him due to his negligence. He's likely covered by insurance so his estate won't actually pay a dime. The helicopter company will go bankrupt for sure.

I have a hard time judging how anyone would react to something like that, I can't even imagine. On top of that it sounds like she probably wins? So idk man

It's an easy win and she's just the first. I'd imagine the other families will sue as well.

Lebron got his wish. He won't be playing front of any empty arenas.

We can probably go ahead and slam a lock on this thread, right?

Anyone else watching The Last Dance? My brother told me he read they had this footage for years and MJ gave ESPN the green light to air it on the day of the Cavs parade in 2016 when everyone was comparing LeBron to MJ. Savage

Yeah, I’m watching. Bill Simmons had the director on his podcast who told the story about Jordan giving the green light. I switched my sling subscription specifically to watch this.

Pretty sweet so far. I was born in 89 so my MJ memories started in 95 or so. Pretty cool seeing the story before those years

I was a huge lakers fan growing up in the 80s, but loved watching the 90s Bulls.

Without a Pittsburgh team I've always just followed individual players. So I loved MJ and the Bulls. Had a Bulls hoop. Shaq was a big favorite at the time too, and mostly LeBron since then being somewhat close to me

The intro music was responsible for at least two championships

Good start with the first 2 parts. This was about the time that my regular NBA watching came to an end, especially with the lockout at beginning of 98-99 season and then the Heat and Knicks playing games with scoring lower and less aesthetically pleasing than some high school games. It’s been said that Jerry Krause is gonna get torn up in this doc and rightfully so. While he ‘sold high’ on the Bulls, he also killed the franchise for what is now going on 22 years. It’s great to see the access they got for this and next Sunday should be just as good.

Yeah, Krause deserves to get crushed, but he also made some very good moves to set that team up. After that, not so much. In one of the books about him (think it might have been “The Jordan Rules”) it goes into great detail about how Jordan just eviscerated Krause constantly. Almost felt sorry for him. But he said and did so many stupid things.

And it’s completely indefensible that they didn’t try to bring that team back for another run. As much on Reinsdorf as it is Krause. In what world do you not try to win a 4th title in a row?

when they start talking about young MJ they of course bring up Wilmington. They show a basketball court. At first I think to myself "hm, I wonder if that's a real court"

then I realize that the way the sun is setting and the trees around it that it looks dangerously like the court I play at every Sat and is like a minute from my house

took this pic today

lol the ones from the doc are old chain nets that they’ve replaced with nylon and they took the rims down now because of COVID

what’s funny is that this court is only like 2 years old so Jordan never could’ve played on it
