While we're slow, a buddy of mine has a Youtube channel where he does woodworking. He made a trophy sized Stanley Cup:
He sells them if anyone needs one. Sadly, the main interest in making a Cup came from a guy in DC.

Bruins furloughing people :
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2 ... employees/The owners of the Boston Bruins and TD Garden announced Wednesday that 68 of their full-time, salaried employees will be placed on temporary leave amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, 82 full-time associates will receive an indefinite salary reduction.
Delaware North, the multibillion-dollar hospitality company led by Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, issued its “temporary business stabilization measures” in a news release posted to the Bruins’ website.
“As relayed to our associates today, none of these decisions were reached without difficult and painful deliberations,” the release says. “These measures are intended to be temporary with associate employment and compensation returning once our business resumes to its normal state from this unprecedented stoppage.”

I can’t believe they haven’t called it yet. Let’s say the playoffs start in May. You’re going to have shitty, sloppy hockey, which won’t be enjoyable at all. Then you run through the offseason, and next year’s start is also a mess, nevermind any injuries that occur between now and then.
Call it a season, and come back well rested in Septemver. Also, **** the Flyers and Caps.

Crosby was ok with it. But he said both ways because that's him.

Been chitchatting around the last couple days...this may be out there already...sorry if so.
- NHL has asked teams/buildings for availability through August.
- There's an effort to get a "few" regular season games in before playoffs if at all possible.
- Thing to watch about "expanded" playoffs...look at the standings: Look at the teams in the "next four"...NYR, Mtl, Van, Chi. That's potentially a fast way to make up some $$$ to prevent a cap/escrow issue if those markets get involved.
- Feeling is that draft could be in August. Combine during playoffs. Lottery and awards during playoffs too.
- Desperately want to preserve 82 game, timely start for 2020-21. #1 Priority it would seem.

I think I saw players were even okay with the season going into September and pushing the 20-21 season to a November start. That was a tweet from a few weeks ago so that could all be out the window by now. I'll attempt to dig up the tweet, think it was Lebrun.

also heard a thing this morning on NHL Radio that Ovie was interested in several games before the playoffs, with the hosts speculating that it might also have to do with him trying to get to 50 goals. He's at 48 right now.

The Colorado Avalanche were advised late last night that a second player has tested positive for COVID-19. The player is in self-isolation. All other Avalanche players, staff and others who might have had close contact with the player have been informed and remain isolated as per prior League direction

NHLN showing old time SCF video from the '50s. Pretty entertaining since I can't recite who won these. Assuming Montreal but first one I watched was the '52 Wings. They had a real nice run of cups in the early '50s.
Helmetless goalies.... these guys were nuts. Do I want to take a shot from the Rocket off the dome? No I do not.

Oh, yes.
1952 playoffs. Probably the best goaltending performance we'll ever see in a postseason. Sawchuk: 8-0, 0.62 GAA, .977 save pct., 4 shutouts. 5 goals against in the whole playoff. Sweeping both the #2 and #3 teams in the league.
