Are the Leafs gonna get two coaches fired in the same season?

Thanks to Geno for invalidating my bets. Would've won about 100 bucks too.

Was Hornqvst injured through last year? Looks like it was just a down year in 2018-19 as opposed to any sort of age related decline.

I don't think Hornqvist is ever not hurt...it's just a matter of whether it would kill a regular man or not...if it wouldn't - he plays...if It would, he misses 3 games...

I know there was some groaning over where Hornqvist was placed in the lineup recently, but that line really has played well together.

There was a moment during that 5-on-3 kill where Jarry stepped out of his crease to poke check the puck into the corner. That was slick.

“Sometimes I wish when we had a full lineup I could convince us to play with the same simplicity,” coach Mike Sullivan said after the game. “Maybe the silver lining in all the adversity we’ve faced is we’ve discovered an identity that we can play to that brings us success.”

His combo of hockey sense, skating, athleticism, and stick work might be the best in the NHL. And I wouldn't say that without provocation...not saying he's the best goalie or anything...but that combo that I listed - which to be fair is catered to him - has gotta be just about the best in the NHL...

@meow I'm playing war right now, and I think I have a king showing...what are you laying down here?

All's I know is I've never seen a goalie leave his crease to poke check a contested puck into the corner while killing a 5-on-3. I don't know about hockey sense, but the dude's confidence is off the charts right now.

You aren’t going to get much disagreement from me. He’s not the best at any one of those attributes, but looking at all them as one whole toolset. Tough to argue against it. Ben Bishop is a pretty toolsies keeper. John Gibson too.

Jarry’s hockey sense is off the charts. Hockey sense is really just a fancy term used to scale a player’s ability to digest time and space properly and quickly. He shows it off when the opponents put their ham and eggers out there. Jarry is playing chess and those cement heads are playing checkers. Shooters aren’t going to outsmart him.

I wasn’t thrilled with his mechanics earlier in the year, but I don’t give a **** about that anymore. Sure, he plays like he has the old plastic covered Mylec street hockey pads on, but the puck stays out. His stick discipline blows. He keeps too many pucks moving instead of freezing them. He has his feet moving when shots are coming at him. Those used to give me the willies. Not with him though. Do your damn thing dude.

I do wish the fan base would calm the fudge down about the whole Murray/Jarry. The two play like night and day. There is no need to pick a side.
