Idk... Poulin is having a monster year right now, and unlike Addison, projects to be able to make an impact in the pros sooner, and at a greater position of need (wing) for the Pens. i.e., he's someone who could absolutely contribute on an ELC during the last couple years of our window after this year. You always need those young cheap contributors if you're a cap-strapped contender.

Yeahh....only thing that made me somewhat hopefully is it's his non-dominant shoulder, but still, you're most likely right. Risk/reward probably wouldn't even be worth it.Jake ain’t coming back this season. Even if we played into August

I know DK gets a lot of hate on this site, but Taylor's really good at what she does. And she's working alongside Molinari, so she will get even better.

She handles being disagreed with just about as well as DK so it's probably a perfect fit.

That night was the angriest I have ever been watching a hockey game. All this impotent rage and nowhere to put it. You're right though, it is crazy that it was only nine years ago, and all those players you mentioned were showcased on a team that had just won the Cup two years prior and had Cup aspirations every year.I always liked Godard and coming off the bench to aid in Johnson's defense got big points from me. Less than a decade ago, but that game feels like a completely different NHL. There's still fighting and every now and then you get a Flames-Oilers shitshow, but that Pens team featured Cooke, Rupp, Engelland, Godard, and Asham, and the Isles had human excrement Gilles and Konopka to go along with Martin and Haley, who are still in the league but have toned down their bullshit. Much less room for the shitbrains anymore.9 years ago today:

So realistically what do the Pens need to add, a 3rd/4th center and a depth defenseman?

I knew that Jarry had been good this season, but I don't think I realized how good. He is tied with Rask and Merzlikins at .930 this season (highest among eligible goaltenders). GAA is second in the league. Tied for SOs with Rask.
It's actually eerie how similar his stats are to Rask's this year. Long way to go, but he has to be a Vezina candidate, right?

Doubtful, as he's only 32nd in the league in starts. But looking at his stats, cosnider this: in January his SV% was only .906 and his GAA was 2.84. His numbers from October to December were simply insane.

NHL formally announces Carolina will host an outdoor game next season. Opponent yet to be determined -- gotta think PIT & Jim Rutherford is a consideration

Another outdoor game means another jersey. I’m in.

If his stats for March and/or April look anything like his stats from December (8-1, .947, 3 SO) then it's a conversation we could very well be having.I knew that Jarry had been good this season, but I don't think I realized how good.
