On the fence about whether or not Dev Patel can truly bring the heat. Guess we'll find out.

David Lowery certainly makes interesting films, so, exciting to see how this one turns out.

The king-ish guy was an awesome bad guy in the last couple of Mission:Impossible films.

I've never been particularly impressed with Patel, but thought he was great in Lion.

The king-ish guy is apparently King Arthur.

I like Sean Harris, he was also in Prometheus with the Queen from The Green Knight (also Lysa Arryn in GoT).

what the hell?

That looks like they took 3 or so scripts, tossed all of the pages up into the air, and just grabbed a bunch of paged off of the floor and made a movie out of it.

What's super funny is it's obvious that Chan and Schwarzenegger are only in this one scene and the rest of the movie has nothing to do with them. Apparently this is a Chinese/Russian production, so that explains everything.

He looks like Batman from the Arkham video games.... which is going to double suck, when he speaks and doesn't sound like Kevin Conroy.

Ford vs Ferrari was awesome. Entire family loved it. Christian Bale is such a good actor. This may have been the most enjoyable movie of the year.

I only saw the final 30 minutes or so of Ford vs. Ferrari, but what I saw was really good. I've never been a Ford guy, and I walked away from the movie liking them even less after the BS they pulled with the driver at the end.

Ha, same here. I don't really know the history behind all of this stuff, but I knew enough from hanging around my gear head buddies who would build and race their muscle cars that a lot of this stuff stood out in the movie. What makes this movie so good, is you don't need to know anything, it tells the story so well that I think it will interest just about everyone watching. This was my wife's favorite movie of the year and surprisingly all 3 kids, 8-10-12 were focused and excited about everything.

It's well regarded in racing circles as well. It has its 'one more gearshift' moments but they're outweighed by the quality of the rest of the movie.

The scene with the SCCA tech inspector with the suitcase is a favorite for them.

The new Indiana Jones movie is set to start filming in April. I can't wait to learn how Indy has aged and definitely doesn't have a son named Mutt and certainly didn't go on any alien adventures seeing as this is the first sequel since Last Crusade.

For those who saw and enjoyed "Kung Fury," apparently there's a feature length film on the way...

You mean a shot of the hero driver needing just that little bit more speed and so they change gears and suddenly find 10 mph they were weirdly just holding in the bank for no apparent reason?

Yeah, that.

And the ability to decide to move your braking marker back 100 yards at the end of the long straight this one time.

Oh man... I really loved Kung Fury... It's one of the most fun 30 minutes I've ever spent watching a short film, possibly ever. That said, I don't think I want a feature film. Just let it be.

Bear with me here...

Found a grainy copy of Disney’s Song of the South and watched it with the kids (17 and 20) who had never seen it.

We had a discussion about what was wrong with it, but there are many good things too.

With all the Disney remakes, seems like they could update this, address the history of the original and come out with a winner.

Released in 1946, winner of Best Song Oscar. The actor who played the lead of Uncle Remus, James Baskett, was supposed to attend the premiere, but couldn’t because no hotel in Atlanta would have him.

Oscars still matter. In the days since its best picture win, Parasite has raked in 8.8mil domestically, which accounts for a whopping 20% of its domestic BO. It's weekend haul of 5.5mil was a 234% increase in ticket sales, the biggest boost for a best picture winner in the past decade.

Saw it yesterday with my wife. Was this year a weak year for films? I liked the movie, but with all the awards it has won internationally I don't get the hype.
