What's ironic about it is they try to make it sound fancy. 'Wagyu steak hoagies' and 'bison meatloaf'.

when and why did church brew works get rid of their pizza? They had two things going for them....a cool atmosphere and pizza
edit: oh wait, didn't they get rid of pizza due to insurance/fire issues

I've been there twice in the last two years: once with a friend visiting from out of town and another was after leaving Little Italy Days. Both times the beer was really flat. I thought it might have just been mine, but the friend I was with said her was flat and had no flavor to it.I like the yard. It's not my favorite but it's a good option.
My last two trips to CBW were terrible, and I'm likely never going back. The beer was flat, the food was overpriced, and not good.
It hasn't been the same since they ditched the pizza.
Since last year's post-Little Italy visit, I haven't even considered that place as an option.
Yours truly has a jersey hanging in Shale's.Don't sleep on Shale's Street Meat too..

Church Brew Works was worth talking about 10 years ago when there were only 3 breweries in Pittsburgh: East End, Penn, Church. They were at the bottom of the list then. Now there are 100 more breweries in Pittsburgh. They are still at the bottom of the list.

There is zero reason to ever go to CBW unless they get their pizza oven back.

Saturday morning brunch spot east of the city (not too far off the parkway)? Maybe thinking Oakland area? Kid friendly. Taking lil mac to the Pens/Sabres game.

The Porch at Schenley
Fuel and Fuddle (opens a little later than I'd like)
Big Jims Restaurant
Anything else?

The Porch at Schenley was going to be my vote.

Took a look at their menu - not the greatest for lil mac, but we can probably manage.

Square café might be a good choice. Sort of crowded and expensive AF though.
If you want straight up lunch food, D's is also a good choice for mac the younger.

There's a Pamela's on Forbes as well but it's Pamela's so it'll be packed

D's actually caught my eye. I've been there but my wife never has. I'd say we'll be fine with lunch.Square café might be a good choice. Sort of crowded and expensive AF though.

lil mac is tough to please. He has a dairy allergy and isn't much into chicken or beef. D's is actually right up his hot dog alley

The space at Porch might be best if an infant is in tow.
Square Cafe is good, but that always seems like a hassle to get into.

Parking at D's or Porch would be luck based.

Haven’t been to Pie for Breakfast next to Legume but I’m sure it’s good.

Wasn't that the place that did their grand opening without pie?

They have about 4 meals on their menu, I'm sure it's good but I'm not waiting for 'seasonal omelettes'

Just a toddler. I'll let the wife decide between the Porch and D's.The space at Porch might be best if an infant is in tow.

Waffles Incaffeinated. Not sure what that would do to little mac's dairy allergy
