lol i haven't followed this at all and was assuming he was referring to stealing the the third base coach's signs not the catcher's. is this the main thing that got houston into trouble?it's one thing to steal signs when you're on 2nd base - part of the game. You have to worry about A) getting picked off while you do it B) figuring out the actual signs because when you're on 2nd they aren't just flashing a 2 for a curveball, and C) figuring out a way to let the batter know what's coming without them catching on because lastly D) you have to be okay knowing you may get one in the earhole.I can’t believe people give a **** about sign stealing. Part of the game I say. Get better signs or rotating sets.
The current situation has some jabrony looking at an HD TV with a camera pointed at the catcher from center field and banging on a trash can the instant he flashes a sign. So respectfully, gtfoh with that bush league BS

NHL wheel of discipline is reimagined to a steal wheel and spun anytime a player wants to steal. They can be safe, out, caught in a rundown (respin), overrun the base, error on the defense running keeps going and the wheel respins, out of baseline, out of baseline but called safe (respin to see if manager argues with ump(spin again to see if manager kicks dirt(spin against to see if spittle gets on ump( spin again to see if manager physically steals the base and throws it( spin again to see if ejection occurs( spin again to see if manager hurls bats onto field when leaving))))))Remove stealing and leadoffs, remove catcher, remove umpire, put in AI for strikes and balls...
Pitcher throws whatever the hell he wants without any signs and we're good until mind reading is possible.

Newly hired Carlos Beltran fired by the Mets due to his involvement with the sign stealing shenanigans. Apparently the involved players receive no punishment if they're still players but if they've moved on to coaching positions MLB is considering them fair game.

Best take I saw on that was, they should just make Bonilla the manager.

People are poking around the possibility that Altuve was wearing a buzzer when he hit the ACLS clinching HR. I'd say, I'd watch that clip if you can and tell me he wasn't sitting on a slider. That combined with him clutching his jersey at the celebration and apparently yelling "don't rip my jersey".

Apparently that idea originated in a tweet from someone claiming to be Beltran's niece, but actually is not related to the family.

Trevor Bauer said he'd heard the same from other people.
It's obviously circumstantial, but just watch the hit. He is without a doubt sitting on an offspeed pitch, you can't wait like that against Chapman unless you are sitting on offspeed. So, it's either he guessed right, or he knew.

That's hitting in a nutshell...Trevor Bauer said he'd heard the same from other people.

The twitter account claimed Beltran was being hired something like three days before it was official, if that counts for anything.

Heard or read that Beltran was the only player named in the report. Guess this was MLB’s way of punishing without breaking immunity terms.Newly hired Carlos Beltran fired by the Mets due to his involvement with the sign stealing shenanigans. You mean like how steroids single handedly rejuvenated their sport previously? Any press is good press for the MLB.
Not to go too conspiracy here, but if mlb did investigate the buzzer stuff, would they really want it to come out that their last three post seasons were tainted?

A lot of old heads yelling at clouds? Not really the same at all. Steroids resulted in a home run record chase. What’s the upside to this?

Yeah, this reminds me of a discussion I had with someone about Seattle's steroid use vs New England's game plan stealing...huge advantage: New England. I don't know that it's even a little bit close...
