I don’t think point of contact is in question for anyone. Blindsiding someone who is already engaged with another player is a shitbird move.

Reminds me a little bit of those old Colby Armstrong hits, except this guy isn't emerging from behind the net because he's too slow and not good enough...it's a tough hit, yeah, pretty questionable when you're already kind of engaged...

I am 100% fine with that hit as it was. I don't see any skirts, quarterbacks, or soccer players out there.

It just seems like people were confusing hockey with figure skating for a minute there.

I'm with Jim on that hit. It is maybe borderline at worst. Then Kassian acts like a lunatic...

the first hit is a charge, no 2 ways about it. the second, he's already engaged with another player. personally, I think that's crap.
I did enjoy Tkachuk's post-game response though.

As much as I love the jerseys, there's just something wrong about seeing the Hurricanes wearing Whalers colors.

I actually don't think they mind that...there's a lot of belief in Samsonov...

For his age 33 to 37 seasons, that's gonna be pretty tough...Backstrom was never fast and was never strong or even in particularly good shape...so I wonder how he holds up down the stretch...it's a little bit of a "thank you" deal as well...but those core pieces, much like ours, aren't young...

yeah but Backstrom also doesn't put himself in bad situations. he's pretty much a premier setup man. those guys tend to have looooong careers.

“ ... I think I can do what Matthew Tkachuk did if the league is saying it is clean. I can do exactly that. I didn’t think you were allowed to, but after speaking with George apparently you are allowed. That is fine”

RIP to someone on the Flames.
