The arm for a pop-up ball drain stop eroded away into nothing. This is going to be a major PIA because none of these "universal" replacements are going to fit, isn't it?

I've used one that Home Depot sells in the past that worked fine. It's a cheap test, even if it doesn't work.

My pop up tub drain slowly leaks, and I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust it. I mean, I CAN adjust it, but, it doesn't completely seal it up.

Woke up to no heat. My BIL was unavailable, so I bit the bullet and called for service. $250 **** dollars later, he diagnosed the issue, but didn't have a part on the truck. Rather than spend another $265 on the install and replacement, I bought the $45 switch on eBay and will be installing it next week. The service fee plus OT is still pissing me off hours later, and now I wish I had just waited until my BIL was available.

If a tree with roots on my property falls on my neighbors property and takes out their overhead electrical lines am I responsible? I have a tree leaning bad and not sure if I should take care if it now or later.

If my tree falls on my neighbor’s fence, it’s their problem...technically.

The power company should take care of removing the lines from the tree although they may not reattach to the house.

You have the duty to inspect the tree (which you have), and insure the tree is safe.

If it falls you've created a nusiance that is encroaching on your neighbors property and are liable for the damages because you breached the above duties.

Perhaps call the utility company, they may remove it for you as a premptive effort.

I know of two people in my area who had to pay for repairs to neighboring property because their trees fell on the neighbor’s fence/shed. Personally, I’d have it removed. Dodint’s point about calling the utility company to take care of it preemptively is a great one, IMO.

Our Latrobe house has high powered transmission lines that run over a portion of the property. We have a tree that is about 20 feet high. There is a gap of about 60 feet to the overhead lines. West Penn Power sent us an unsolicited letter notifying us that they will be by to remove the tree sometime in the next two years. They take the stuff seriously, usually.

Thanks everyone. I found a 'report a tree problem' form on First Energy's website, so I filled that out. We'll see what they say. I'm sure it's nothing and the tree isn't going anywhere soon, but it looks like it could.
