Yup...this team's potential is hard capped with Rahne running the offense.

Yup...this team's potential is hard capped with Rahne running the offense.
I originally thought it was more of a combination of Clifford being Trace-light, WR group being a pretty big disappointment as a whole, and a RB by committee that never really gave one guy a chance to develop a rhythm. Honestly, though, most of that falls on Rahne. You had enough tools on offense to be really, really good, but he kept pounding square pegs into round holes expecting them to click into place.

The most frustrating part......even with all of that a BS offensive pass interference call prevented us from being 11-1.

I think the rankings work in Penn State's favor. Only two spots behind Wisconsin. Wisconsin lost bigger @ Ohio State than Penn State and their other loss is vs Illinois compared to Penn State's loss to a ranked Minnesota.

If Ohio State wins big on Saturday, I think we got a good shot at the Rose Bowl placement.

There's a lot of talk starting to bubble about an Alabama-Penn State matchup in the Citrus Bowl but I don't know how that's going to happen because I thought the Citrus rules were that they wouldn't have the same team twice in a row, though if they could swing that game, it would sell out in a heartbeat and we know that bowl season is all about the $$$$. But I've gotta think that the Rose will jump at the chance to pick PSU should OSU pound the Badgers again on Saturday.

I would prefer the Rose Bowl and Oregon personally. I won't likely be traveling to Pasadena, but I am already going to Orlando early next year, and definitely wouldn't be going there.

PSU Rose Bowl game and parade is high on my bucket list but I don’t have the scratch it will probably take sitting around.

That said I hopefully have 25-35 lucid years left on this planet, and maybe they make a few more in that timeframe. Can’t wait forever.

I think that’s a good thing. I mean I get the complaints about a few things and I think there are opportunities to do better and he needs to win a big road game here and there, but he brought the program out of the biggest scandal ever in CFB and has them in the CFP conversation deep into every season. Better than even shot at another NY6 game this year.

Apart from the weather, USC is a step back from where PSU is now. FSU Is many steps back. Not surprised he’d look to continue what he’s built.

I would be very happy if Penn State played in the Rose Bowl.

Extension through 2025 for Franklin. I'm okay with that. These last 4 seasons have been really good (bordering great at times). Haven't seen a run of seasons like this since the mid/early 90's.

Agree. I would like to see a change up at coordinator position though

Blah... I'd rather be playing Alabama and let Michigan play Memphis.

My understanding is that when the Big10/Pac12 champ is in the playoff, the conference representative is chosen at the discretion of the Rose Bowl committee, but that the unwritten rule is that they take the highest ranked team. Is that how Wisconsin got to the Rose instead of PSU?

My guess is that due to Wisky’s ranking, it warranted an NY6 bowl and it was between Cotton and Rose. Wisky played the Cotton last year and PSU hasn’t been there since 1975. They probably swung a deal so both bowls would profit. From an eye test standpoint, PSU has a blah matchup, especially considering the other possibilities. But from a football standpoint, this one is gonna be high scoring and likely pretty tight. Hopefully, the PSU players and staff use these practices and this game as the springboard for Playoffs 2020.
