Also, Molly McGrath was the best thing I saw on TV last night.

For some reason this 7-3 doesn't even feel all that great.. not sure why.

Your season tickets are in the club if memory serves so you should shut your pie hole imo

2nd row on the 50 are superior football seats for a fraction of the price. Figured the club was worth it for the first game or two when it's 90 out and the last one when it's 30. This year however I think we've had one game that wasn't blistering heat or 30 degree cold so slappy wins this one for 2019

Not a lot of chatter on the basketball game. Did the steelers play last night too? :pop:

Some thoughts...

1. I thought this was probably one of Kenneth Shane Pickett's most complete games of his career, up there with the Wake game last season. He only threw for 1 TD in this one, but he accounted for two others on the ground and did a really good job recognizing when he had room to make a play by pulling the ball down. He found nine different receivers during the game, and seven of them caught at least two passes. Moreso, I don't recall an egregiously-bad, "WTF" throw that he made, though either Hasselbeck or McAfee pointed out on the broadcast that he missed Will Gragg so open on a seam route he could have walked into the endzone. Nevertheless, more of this Kenny Pickett for these next few games, please.

2. Broadcast crew said Ffrench likely suffered the broken jaw in the GT game, when he slipped or slid near the sidelines and took a knee to the head. He never returned to the game after that.

3. It seemed like the passing game was taking more medium-to-deep chances. I'm not sure if Ffrench's absence prompted some scheme changes, along with some guy who are more physically suited for those routes (Shocky deep, Wayne on crossing routes).

4. Not to complain, but i'm also mystified by Good Davis and even V'Lique Carter only getting a combined three carries.

5. Daniel Carter changed his number to 20 and has been lining up either at FB or that offset WB/FB that Canada used to do with Aston. I'm still not sure why they won't give him the ball. He looks like he's capable of breaking some tackles.

6. I get the reason behind the rule and I'm all for doing whatever makes the game safer, but I hate the execution of the targeting rule. Watts's early infraction looked a lot more like targeting to me than Hamlin's did, especially since Hamlin was making a direct play on the ball and the UNC receiver left his feet. I know UNC's receiver was "defenseless" at this point but I don't know what else Hamlin is supposed to do there.

7. I hope this coaching staff continues to recruit the hell out of the DB positions because I think Hamlin's ejection plus Dane Jackson missing some time with the injury showed how important depth is there. UNC got back into this game because they were going after Stocker in Hamlin's absence and they kept picking on Pinnock with Corrales.

Gragg would have dropped the pass anyways.

A handful of teams in front of the Super Panthers this week lost. They will most likely be one of the first few teams out, and so will VT. Turned out to be a pretty big game.

Anyone else making the trip?

Depth chart shenanigans.

WR: Wayne jumps ahead of DBJ for the second spot behind Shocky.
WR: Fffffrench OR Vardzel
LT: Warren and Van Lynn separated with an OR.
RB: Davis, Carter OR Davis. Sibley?
DT: OR removed from Bentley and Green, with Bentley securing role as Twyman's backup.
Punt Returner went from FFffrench OR Mack OR Ford to Fffrench or Vardzel.

I can't believe we live in a world where Vardzel remains a thing.

My guess Sibley is probably done for the season (or at least the bowl game), but who knows.

Bad Davis looked good (for him at least) this past week I thought.

I have not religiously watched the Super Panthers this year, but in the times that I have watched (or listened), it seems to me that they are receiving, shall we say, less than favorable officiating on a regular basis.

They do a good enough job of making things more interesting than they need to be on their own...

I'll be down in Blacksburg cheering on the super panthers. This one is going to be a tough one, but still winnable.

i dunno if anyone caught this but nard dog has more or less said that christodoldludodlu has lost "regular" punting duties to Kessman. Christdoudldulu will still be responsobile for finesse punts (i.e. trying to spot a punt inside the 10) but if the job involves punting the ball far, kessman is your man

Curious for anyone that didn't attend and watched the Pitt game on TV (or from a TV in the club) - what was the verdict on the Shocky TD being overturned? Was there a better angle than what we saw on the scoreboard? Was Pat McAfee openly calling refs out for having UNC +5?
