Had my first encounter with a Stormbird in HZD. That was something.

I have a library of unplayed games that are all 2-3 years old. Just started Arkham Knight. After about 20% of the story I can honestly say that the Batmobile in this game is one of the most damnably awful gameplay elements I've ever played. It is just. So. Bad. Not only bad because the mechanics are stupid, but bad because roughly 50% of the game requires you to use the stupid car.

Just wait till later on in the game it gets worse if I remember correctly.

Was playing the Maker's End quest of HZD last night when I suddenly recognized the "unknown voice"... Went to Google, and sure enough... It was indeed Cedric Daniels himself, Lance Reddick.

Ok... The second Deathbringer encounter was a lot more worthy of the name.

Finished the main story of HZD earlier. Such an awesome game. Just the expansion content to go...

I think I'm going to abandon my Arkham Knight playthrough and start up HZD.

Aside from the game being awesome, the story is pretty interesting as it starts to unfold, IMO.

Yeah, much of the 'spoilery' type stuff I already know, because there were some clearance issues late in development that had to be cleaned up right around the time I started at PS.

That said, just watched the first 20 minutes of the campaign from the new COD and it actually looks pretty good. I mean, graphically it looks amazeballs, but the story seems well crafted. Was nice to get a Lewis Hamilton cameo at the end of the Picadilly Circus event.

Just ordered a 5700XT to replace my (slowly) dying R9 390.

This is the first time in 25+ years of PC gaming I will have a top tierish GPU. Praise 1 day Amazon Prime shipping as well.

So RDR2 is finally being released for PC. If anyone has played it, is it good enough to pay full price at release?

I think so but you need lots of time to invest. I bought it on PS4 at launch.

As someone who has spent thousands of hours just playing Kerbal Space Program, I think I can find time to invest. ;)

So I forgot MW was actually releasing this week, so I fired that up instead of HZD, and holy shtballs. The Picadilly attack and subsequent townhouse raid are absolutely stressful and terrifying. The townhouse raid in particular is just..... I mean there's a crying baby wailing away in the background for half the thing, and there are shoot/don't shoot scenarios. I normally can spend hours at a time inside a shooter, but I had to disengage after about 30 minutes this morning.

Way more effective than the stupid 'No Russian' level in 2(?).

havent gotten in to the mw campaign yet but the multiplier has been pretty good. lots of people lurking in corners, etc. which is to be expected as people get to the know the maps. i find domination to be the most enjoyable game type at the moment since it reduces the impact of campers

Watching the MW beta, and knowing how FPS games go with fast time-to-kill, camping will be a serious issue for COD.

I haven't played a COD game on purpose since COD2 on PC, but when Battlefield moved to the attrition system (no full automatic health regen, low ammo) with a fast TTK, the game meta changed to more passive play. Camping away from objectives to get a couple of kills. Coupled with the visibility issues, it can be frustrating. Other than the indoor/outdoor brightness issue, COD doesn't seem to have bad visibility issues like BFV.

I may pick the game up around Christmas if the patches and content are well received.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy BFV's Pacific update which drops Thursday. I can't wait - it looks like they did a great job with Iwo Jima and Wake Island 3.0 will drop in December.

Every streamer and reviewer has already complained about campers. It goes beyond typical COD camping. The map design encourages camping. If you are one of the brave souls who tries to run and cross streets, you're a **** dead man.

They're trying to implement a Battlefield style, into a twitch shooter. The player should equip smoke next time to tactically get across that street, as you would in BF if it's camped like that.

I suspect it's going to be a harsher learning curve for COD players, and easier for BF players to invest time in.

Is there even smoke in COD? It sounds like you're making excuses for poor map design.

haven't played the game, last I heard, they got rid of the 3 lane-kill zone. I would suspect if it's a modern game, it should have smoke.

This is coming from someone who's played nothing but BF for years. Running out in the open is usually a swift death.

Old CoDs used to have smoke so unless something has drastically changed between BO2 and now I don't see why smokes wouldn't be an option.

So I'm finally coming around on it. Feels like it's getting smoother, just the lack of content is killer. I'm on PS4.
