2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS. It's been reliable af - 95,000 miles and very little problems. I had the front coil springs replaced due to recall, and the oxygen sensor might need replaced soon.

Unrelated; looks like the Facebook Container extension also nukes Instagram links. Noice.

Awesome, thanks. Carfax's car search tool is actually pretty useful. Each tool seems to find different cars, which is annoying.

Is this a good place to blast cyclists, or is that not what this is about?

Man, this situation with my mom's car is annoying. The at-fault driver's insurance, Liberty Mutual, didn't have any adjusters available to send out to inspect my mom's car, so the shop sent them photos. They used the photos to determine damage and cost ($8k), and totaled the car. I have no idea why the shop did not create their own estimate. Fair market value is around $10k, but they still don't know how much they'll get for from Liberty.

I have a Kia. 2015 Forte5 hatch. I like it very much, and I've had zero problems with it. No repairs and no recalls.

Kias were included in the search, but all I found were odd looking hatchbacks. I found about a dozen Hyundai Elantras that may fit the bill. Every one of them was still under the 10-year warrantee, which is a plus.

If they're less than 5 years old, they might have some of the B-to-B warranty remaining. Not sure if that transfers, but the standard warranty for both Kia and Hyundai is 5 years/60,000 miles. My 2015 is still under full warranty until next May.

These were 2013-2017 models, so most should have some warranty left. I’m just looking for something reliable and inexpensive to maintain, and Hyundai ranks right up there. My mom doesn’t really care about cars at all.

BMW dealers seem to be stepping up in their loaner car games. I had some recall repairs on my old 3-series to be done at our local dealership, and in the past they'd give me either 1- or 3-series loaner. This time - a fully-loaded sport package 430i with about 1,000 miles on it!

There is pretty much no chance I'd buy a new car until the old BMW falls apart - but driving that machine for 2 days was sweet...

Yep. I told them to get their insurance adjuster on the phone and go over everything with them. The other person's insurance isn't in the business of helping him.

Hey mac5155. My memory ain't what it used to be, but I think it was you that said to let you know if I was heading to Fayettenam for a car show with my 61 Vette. Weather permitting I plan on going to St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown on Sept 22 and Duck Hollow golf course near Uniontown on October 6.

Imagine that, MetLife had an adjuster out to inspect the car the next morning, and confirmed that it’d be totaled. They’re also giving them $1800 more than what Liberty said they’d be giving them. She ended up going the CPO route and bought a 2016 Civic EX-T with 18k miles on it and 3+ more years of warranty in it.

It was me! And go figure, I have things both of those days already. Maybe October 6, depending on the time I could make it out. I will be coming home from a bachelor party and should be home by 1, but my wife's leaving that night before for a bachelorette party, so depending on weather and the kid we could come then. Remind me closer to the day :)
