What a weird place for him to live. He played like one season there. Also, he works here. And don’t all Russians want to live in Miami anyways?

I think that's where his kids were born, if I'm not mistaken.

Rossi says that Geno demanded either he or Kessel be traded, according to TSN. So we can now confirm that this never happened.

Yeah, my impression is that is a liberal interpretation of the supposed events...

Is this what the media jackals are basing their Geno trade request ‘news’ on?
From The Athletic article by Rossi on Malkin:
Multiple team sources say Malkin requested a trade if Kessel was to return.
Malkin denies that, but it doesn’t mean he wanted to play another game, let alone another season, with Kessel as his linemate.
He did not.
So now Kessel is in Arizona, traded away.
In June, Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford said only Crosby was untouchable in trade talks, a shot across Malkin’s bow, intended or not. Multiple team sources said Crosby, rarely one to involve himself in management matters, made it clear to the Penguins that Malkin should not be traded for any reason.
“It’s me and Geno,” Crosby said.
Malkin downplayed Rutherford’s comments. He rolled his eyes while discussing them and noted he had heard trade talk before. Privately, the trade talk stung. It hurt worse because he first heard the news while with Team Russia at the World Championships in Slovakia.
Mostly, Malkin was peeved because for the first time, his future — not just in Pittsburgh, but as a great NHL player — was being openly doubted.
“We talk (about) one bad year, you know?” Malkin says. His quick, deep sigh suggests exasperation.

Yeah, that was a generous, liberal interpretation of what went on...tough to get anyone to read an article these days, need an angle...if there's room for interpretation for various reasons (language, etc.), even better...give'em enough rope...

You can INFER from what was written a number of things but if the subject denies it to the writer and it’s in the story, that’s what you have to go with. I read that article in the airport yesterday and when I landed 3 hours later, I had texts referring to Malkin having ‘demanded’ a trade. Frickin desperate clickbait taking the tenets of journalism and flushing them down the pipes.

Rossi is a joke.
Is Rossi hanging out with Geno at his home? How would he know this? This isn't reporting.Privately, the trade talk stung.

Didn't Rossi travel to Russia to do a lengthy interview/book with Geno years ago? Like they have a close relationship or something? Or was that someone else...?

Yes.Rossi is a joke.

Nope, its Rossi. They're close. Every deep dive into Geno is done by Rossi. Rossi has traveled to Russia for Geno on more than one occasion. It's weird, but he trusts Rossi and shares a lot of deeply personal **** with him.Didn't Rossi travel to Russia to do a lengthy interview/book with Geno years ago? Welp, I stand corrected. I do not retract my "Rossi is a joke" statement, though.

Got an invite to Pens Summer Sticks at TopGolf.
I'm half-expecting to either be paired with Jack Johnson or someone that's going to get traded the next day.
We ended up getting JD Forrest from the WBS coaching staff. Real nice guy. Honestly probably worked out better than getting a current player. Had a couple beers, shot the ****. Lot of fun.
Felt bad for Brandon Tanev though. He was a couple booths down. I don't think the people he was with knew who he was and barely talked to him.

Man. Imagine getting invited to a pretty cool event hosted by the Penguins, wondering what Pens player or legend you'll get paired with and you end up with the assistant coach of WBS...Got an invite to Pens Summer Sticks at TopGolf.
