Kingham traded to the Blue Jays for cash. He had been DFA’d early this week.
Now that’s pure financial flexibility.

The pitchers spot was 3-3 last night with a run and 2 RBI. Is Brault.. not bad?

Jennings is actually coming around. Maybe in his third year they're starting to let him throw a breaking ball. Anyway 3 June starts

2.04 17.2 12h 4bb 14k

His k/9 and bb/9 have been ok in his career just too many hits which hopefully is because he's just been working that fastball

It pains me to say this but Moran is actually developing into a major league hitter

League totals for 3b: 256/329/441/770

Moran: 275/330/481/812

But i still reserve the right to hate him.

What sucks is, had the pitching staff not imploded, Moran and bell taking leaps forward would have been one of the conditions for success.

I had no idea he was even on the Marlins. Good for him being in MLB. Reese McGuire had a September callup last year but his offensive issues in AAA make it seem like his career will be Stallings-esque.

Also, Archer sucks balls. I'm beginning to wonder if they pickup his option for next season. Would make that trade even worse but he's not worth any kind of money.

Hey they took 2 out of 3 against the league worst Marlins... not that it matters. They still suck.

Between this and marte’s option, I bet the buccos are really praying no one in the media starts to ask these questions

Quality of season isn’t the issue. Marte is a worth 11 million a year. The question is if the pirates are willing to spend 11 million for a quality player? If they commit to marte, will they commit to paying for other talent?

If they won't they will never pay Bell what he will command so they may as well fold.

I would have a hard time accepting a decline on Archer's option, declining Marte's is not a question. I think they would trade him if they didn't want to pay him. His ceiling is limited, but he's a guaranteed 3-4 WAR player for the remainder of that contract.

As for Archer, I think the Pirates have just completely blown up their 2019 season by not having any clue how to get guys out. With all these guys equipped with their launch angle swings, it's not wise throwing so many fastballs just to try and get ahead in the count to try and get quick at bats. I just don't think you can look at Archer's crap season without putting in the context that the team as a whole has a 5 ERA and the results are worse than the individuals on the pitching side. I mean, they used to have results that were greater than the individual parts when they were making the playoffs, so it's not hard to imagine the reverse where bad strategy is causing players to underperform.

gee whiz, all of those tweaks to archer's pitching style seem so out of character for the priates' pitching staff.

Took 2 of 3 from a **** awful team. Congrats to all involved. Reynolds is batting 396/448/547/995 in June. He might be the Pirates best player ever.

Dickie Dunn is Concerned About our Top Prospects:
- Mitch Keller: Guess we'll once again find out more tonight. Would be sweet if he could make his ERA go down instead of up.
- Ke'Bryan Hayes: Appears to be off the AAA DL.
- Travis Swaggerty: Dude is ass. 217/315/323/638 for the season, batting 077 in his last 10 games, and is at 130/230/204/433 in June.
- Oneil Cruz: Still injured!
- Kevin Kramer: 271/353/448/801 for the season. Whatever.

Deep cuts,

The Pirates have three of the top hitters in the DSL this year.
