Like a true NHL ref. A mod saw it, and the mod is too afraid to change the outcome of the game, he ignored it.
YOU ARE CHANGING THE OUTCOME BY IGNORING IT
Alright, you're out of here. Get to the box. 2 minutes, second man in.

If you think I am second to slap on anything - maybe except amount of marinara sauce in my blood - you are sorely mistaken

Butcher was a hot commodity back in the day...

At the '91 deadline, he was dealt for Geoff Courtnall, Cliff Ronning, Robert Dirk and Sergio Momesso.

Pat Quinn orchestrated the deal to St. Louis on the condition that the Blues also take Dan Quinn, who Pat Quinn wanted to get rid of by any means necessary. But what a haul...prime Ronning, prime Courtnall for all his warts, prime Momesso for what he brought...basically setup the 1994 team...

I would have never guessed that

My boys on the NHL '94 Canucks on Sega Genesis. They almost got their names engraved.

Grant Jennings -- the often forgotten third piece of the most pivotal trade in Penguins history -- is a guy I remember.

Grant spent 8 years in the league, playing in 389 games and putting up 14-43-57 for his career with Hartford, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Buffalo. He arrived in PGH via the trade that brought Ron Francis and Ulfie to the Pens in exchange for John Cullen, Jeff Parker and Zarley Zalapski. Jennings earned the nickname "Fartsy" due to his love of dairy despite severe lactose intolerance.

In related guy I remember news, Jennings was traded out of PGH in 1995 for another guy I vaguely remember, Drake Berehowsky who had (has?) top tier lettuce:

So cool story, and one that I totally forgot and is one of those things you remember suddenly for no apparent reason: Jude Drouin is a guy I remember, not as a player, but after his playing days with the Habs, North Stars, Islanders and Jets ended, he got his Engineering degree and settled back in the NY area. When I got put on a project in the mid-'00s in Queens for a year, I worked with him at the power company.

Not having gotten into hockey until after his career was well over and not being a fan of any team he played for, I had no idea who he was until someone mentioned, hey you're a hockey fan, did you know Jude played in the NHL?

Dude scored 151 goals and 456 points including 27 goals for Minnesota in '72-'73.

Dan Trebil played parts of two seasons with the Penguins. I could not find any pics of his Penguins tenure online.

He was traded from the Ducks to the Pens for a 5th rounder in the 2000 Draft. The Ducks used that pick on Bill Cass, who played two seasons primarily in the ECHL before retiring in 2004. That offseason, Trebil was signed by the Isles but was traded back to the Pens early in the season. They traded the 280th pick in the 2001 Draft, was used on Roman Kukhtinov, who played in the RSL/KHL before retiring in 2010.

Trebil was with the Penguins during the night of Mario's return on 12/27/2000, but was traded to St. Louis the next morning for Marc Bergevin. After that season, Trebil played one season in Sweden and was retired from hockey by age 28. He has since become a successful commercial real estate manager.

I don't remember much about Dan Trebil's tenure with the Pens as it was very brief, but I do remember Dan Trebil.

Ross Lupaschuk was one of the "Jagr Three" that was traded from Washington to Pittsburgh on July 11, 2001. He had a brief stay in Pittsburgh, lasting only three games during the 2002-03 season. I remember him being awful defensively, which earned him the name "Ross Lose The Puck". He played three more seasons in WBS, but after the 04-05 lockout he primarily bounced around Europe and Russia. He received PTOs from Anaheim and Phoenix in the late 2000s, but he was released from his contract on both occasions. Lupaschuk retired after the 2012-13 EBEL season.

I don't remember much about Lupashuk's time in the Pittsburgh, but I do remember Ross Lupaschuk.

I'm 99% sure the last Koho stick that I used was the one that he is using in that pic. Not that exact stick, but the model.

For it being a two-piece, that thing was heavy AF.

Elias Abrahamsson is a guy I remember. He never played a game in the NHL but as the Bruins' 5th round pick in 1996, he played in Providence for much of the time we were there. When we were discussing boy names before we started having kids, we figured what better way to find names than going down sports team rosters. There was Elias Abrahamsson, and my oldest is named after him.

184 PIM in 1998-99. Swank.

Incredibly, his name just came up again today. He was selected with the 5th round pick the Bruins acquired when they traded Al Iafrate to the sharks in 1996

Mitch Molloy played two games for the Sabres during the 1989-90 season. Molloy was the second player to play a game in the NHL as a previous member of the ECHL. During his two game NHL career, he fought Brent Severyn and Tim Hunter.

Molloy played three more seasons in the AHL, IHL, and CoHL before retiring in 1993.

I don't remember seeing Molloy playing in Buffalo, but I do remember Mitch Molloy from his time in the ECHL.

Today's gordle was Brian Hayward.

He played from 1982-1993 and his career best save percentage was .896 and his overall career rate came in at .874 meaning 1 in every 8 shots went in on this cat across 357 games.

I know mikey loves talking about how bad goalies were during a large part of this era. It's funny to see these types of stats at the individual level
