Blargh...that's tough news...I think I speak for everyone here when I say I hope it works out for you and you're able to step on the faces of your peers-turned-enemies on your way to the top of the heap...
Yes, good luck @llipgh2!

I have never been in a situation where I've had to worry about layoffs, and I can't even imagine that stress and heartache. Hoping for the best.

The Boyer Candy Company in Altoona has purchased the rights to the Clark Bar, and will now be producing them in their Altoona facility.

Whatever ensures I can still get a Clark Bar is a good thing in my book.

Been a while since I've seen a Clark bar in my regular stores. Shop 'N Save in Hampton occasionally has Zagnuts.

Whoever is doing that would get a punch in the face after the first time they did it.

Sports parents are the freaking worst. 5 weeks of soccer and our club has suspended a parent for calling kids on the opposing team (5-6 yo) borderline obscene names, suspended a coach for threatening another coach, reprimanded the threatened coach for escalating vitriol to the point the opposing coach could no longer take it, had police called on a confrontation between parents in the parking lot, had police called for a patent threatening a ref, and had some numb nuts kid pull a fire alarm inside the school where we play resulting in fire and, yes again, police.

3 weeks left. Can’t help but wonder what they hold. I am convinced It’s getting worse as time goes on.

I am giving my one year notice. I don’t need this crap. For no pay.

By the way, not that there is an excuse at higher levels either but most of this is rec league.

I played sports up until high school, and can't recall any crazy **** like that ever happening. Every once in a while there was an argument, but nothing that ever escalated.

Thanks everyone. I have a one on one scheduled Monday with my manager, who is flying in from NYC. 99.9% sure I'm getting laid off now.

I expect most of the children are oblivious to the adults behaving like douchebags.

I've talked about my baseball horror stories in the parenting thread, so I feel for you. My son, formerly a baseball lover who slept with his glove under his pillow the night before a game, quit baseball last year. He struggled with not being perfect, and having coaches and parents make fun of him for getting upset.

So we're playing church league soccer (Upward) - one practice and one game per week for six weeks, and he's having a blast. As it should be for a ten year old.

Yep. This was the worst season for that stuff for our oldes son.

And he's in coach pitch still.

Kid pitch starts in the fall.

My youngest daughter (kid #2) does karate and it is the best.

I mean we suspended two parents and a coach, One parent for at least the season. Forget the police involvement, Imagine explaining to your kid That you’re not allowed to go see the rest of her games for at least the rest of the season because you don’t know how to act?

No doubt the parents are telling the kids that’s it’s your fault.

It really sucks that you have to wait until Monday to even find out. Either way, good luck on the job search/interviews.

The only way that video could possibly pay off is if it ended with the old guy stabbing the camera op in the face with a spoon.

Anyone going to see former Bucco Garth Brooks tomorrow? (I know I know the Kenny Chesney days, but Garth brings a much better, less country bro crowd. I hope.

Speaking of Garth, his SNL episode completely underrated. My favorite sketch.
