Did you hear about Chip Alexander, beat writer for the Hurricanes, was hung up on by a Boston sports talk show host because the host couldn't listen to someone talk hockey with a Southern accent?
And people wonder why everyone hates Massholes?

I feel similarly about people who wear hi-vis clothing just so they can spot themselves on tv later......You bang on the glass, you're a complete muppet...

I've sat at ice level once, and the novelty quickly wears off. I will always maintain that the best seats are right around row 10 on the blue line. Just above the glass.

Give me behind a net. Sitting on the long side does little for me. Is that because I was a goalie? Probs

It paid to do it once. Was worth it. Was behind the glass about 10 feet to the right of the net. Biggest complaint was one of the players snowed the glass in front of us and it took like 45 minutes for it to dissipate.
It was the Pens/Devils game a few years ago where Sid tied it, right in front of us, with a few seconds left and then the Pens won it in a shootout right in front of us. Very cool memory and glad I did it. Was about $350/ticket though.
The best part might have been not having someone in front of you, and the extra legroom so you didn't have to suddenly get rid of half of your body mass to let someone by who is carrying a parade float of nachos.

I've only been on the glass at Wheeling.

Sat on the glass at the ASG in Raleigh a few years back. Was really cool for the skills comp part of it as it was obviously slower paced.
Flower gave us a puck over the glass. csb.

Sabres hire Ralph Krueger as head coach. I'm sure their fanbase will be pumped. He went 19-22-7 with the Oilers in 2012-13 in his only year as a head coach in the NHL. Since 2014 he's been the Chairman of Southampton, which plays a different sport.

They wanted experience in Buffalo, and technically, they did get it...but I don't know man...that's a little bit of a tough look for me...

I just don’t see how someone like that is on the radar for an NHL job. I’m sure it’ll work out perfectly though. I mean, Botterill is responsible for everything good and wonderful that happened here.

Just went to Krueger's Wikipedia page because I thought DD was joking about Southampton. And he wasn't ...
This is a baffling hire.

I'm not completely surprised he surfaced again...he's auditioned around and he wasn't a disaster in Edmonton, which is really a huge plus in the light of day...I didn't think he would get or even really pursue a head coaching gig...I kinda thought it would be a director of player personnel, player development, maybe even special consultant type gig...he's a unique thinker, he gets a lot of out of players generally...
For Buffalo, they need someone that teaches them how to play...they're the worst defensive team in the league having had Bylsma and Housley back to back, they just play bad hockey...Ralph makes more sense to me as a liberator...if Buffalo had their kids go through a Michel Therrien type coach and now they're ready to take the wheel, that makes sense...but they really need some fundamentals here, I don't know if Ralph brings that to the table necessarily...

John Davidson leaving the Blue Jackets as President of Hockey Operations to take the same position with the Rangers. I always liked JD. Always seemed like a nice, personable guy during his broadcasting career.... at the same time he also seemed like a doofus. Minus a 15 day stint in 2012 he's been an uninterrupted PHO for almost 13 years. That's a hell of a front office run.
