No. They are more worried about mating than eating. You should be fine. Now, if you have a few thousand of them in your garden, that would be a different story.

Their shells are somewhat translucent. It's hard to tell from the pic whether Elvis has left the building.

I'd bet it's a shell. Most of the ones I find are attached to something like that fence. Maybe it's easier for them to molt holding onto something...

Oh I know. I have no other bugs in the house. They not only eat other bugs they are fast and hate humans so more often then not they skeedaddle out of a room before you see them.
