no stupid questions thread
wanted to create a judgement-free thread so I people can ask questions that most other people find common sense or obvious
I'll kick it off: if I order a steak at a restaurant/am served one at a dinner at someone's house...am I supposed to eat the fat or is it ok to cut eat around it?

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and judge you anyways...
Don't eat it.
Don't eat it.

I don't really understand the differences between gasoline grades. As in, the difference between ethanol and non-ethanol and the implications for my older cars.

The fat is literally the best part, but only if it has also been seared off so it's partially rendered. You're more likely to find that in a restaurant steak than a home steak (unless you come to my house )
The fat cap that separates the eye from the deckle on a ribeye is one of life's truly great pleasures.

The octane rating doesn't really tell you a ton about composition (i.e. ethanol vs non-ethanol). It just tells you how far you can compress that particular fuel mix before it auto ignites.I don't really understand the differences between gasoline grades. As in, the difference between ethanol and non-ethanol and the implications for my older cars.
As far as the particular fuel and how it effects older cars, I'd guess the location/brand of gas that you buy has more of an effect than the octane rating.
And if you're not talking about octane ratings, forget I ever posted this.

I wasn't. I know the effects of using 87/89/91/93/95/110, etc. I don't know what 'E85' is or the difference between ethanol and non-ethanol 91 or whatever. I know my sport bike preferred non-ethanol, had a bit more pep in it.And if you're not talking about octane ratings, forget I ever posted this.I don't really understand the differences between gasoline grades. I ate sushi at a bona fide sushi restaurant for the first time yesterday and learned how to effectively use chop sticks. good for me.

Good for you!
If you were eating nigiri sushi (fish on rice, or rolls),the chopsticks are optional. It's meant to be finger food.

Can this be the no stupid answer thread as well?
Dodint, from what I've read, ethanol is cleaner (and cheaper) to burn than non-ethanol. The problem is it has a greater tendency to attract water molecules. Newer car models are able to handle this (no carburetor) with fuel injection technology. Older cars with carburetors (and things like your lawn mower or snow blower) have issues with the ethanol.
This is why I buy pure gas for my lawn equipment. I found this website https://www.pure-gas.org/ and found there's one close to me on 910.

Same here, though I stick to the cans at HD/Lowe’s because I don’t have one convenient to my location. It’s even more noticeable after a carb powered machine has been sitting all winter. This is why I buy pure gas for my lawn equipment. if I'm a guest at someone's house, am I supposed to make the bed after use?
I'm not sure if they're planning on washing the bedding after my use so I never know

I’d make it even if they’re going to wash the sheets.

My last two house guests left the bed unmade.

I wash the sheets after every guest, so made... unmade, makes no difference.

but they need a zip code search. All I could find was "by state" and had to keep zooming in but found a place a few miles from me.

E85 is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline. Can't really run it in anything not designed/programmed for it.I don't know what 'E85' is or the difference between ethanol and non-ethanol 91 or whatever.
Normal ethanol gas E10 has 10% ethanol, 90% gas. Non-ethanol is 100% gasoline.

I make it every time, no questions asked. And if I sleep on the couch, I fold up everything and put it on the pillow or whatever. Stack it up. Show some effort. Let them decide what they want to do with it on their time...meanwhile, you don't leave looking like a total slob...if I'm a guest at someone's house, am I supposed to make the bed after use?
