Down in San Diego near the USS Midway museum, there's a large scale statue of that photo called Unconditional Surrender. Aside from the creeper double entendre implicit in the name (given the context), the statue itself is kinda creepy because it stands 20'+ tall, and the nurse's hemlilne is at about 7', in addition to looking like cheap board game pieces. It's sort of a swing-and-a-miss attempt to do right by an iconic moment. (And I gather it is one of a series of similar statues around the country)

They have one in Sarasota too. It's 26 feet tall. Wasn't really even seeking it out, but ended up passing it last week on the way to the beach.Down in San Diego near the USS Midway museum, there's a large scale statue of that photo called Unconditional Surrender. Awful, awful news.RIP Peter Tork.
My coworker is a huge fan of theirs and his son has become a big fan. Micky Dolenz in particular stays in touch with his son on social media and they always bring them backstage when they are in town. He's going to be gutted

This has been out on Peter Tork's social media before so I don't mind sharing, but this is my coworker's son.
Tork was a great dude.

EDIT: His family announced he died from adenoid cystic carcinoma. An extremely rare cancer of the tongue and throat. He had been battling it for 10 years. He's been sick for while. Mikey Dolenz, when discussing the Mike and Mikey tour, mentioned Peter was battling health issues.RIP Peter Tork.

My all-time favorite performance of this song. The sound is insanely good.
