Cleaned out my garage yesterday in preparation for the epoxy work being done next week. This is the roughest the floor has ever looked.
On top of that, I found fresh engine oil under my car again. Nowhere near the volume as the last leak, but it's clear that something is still leaking down there. I see no oil looking down from the top, and it looks like whatever is leaking is dripping directly onto the frame rail, because there's a trail of oil from top to bottom. I just can't see where unless I get directly underneath. Fun.

I have a creeper, but I’m not doing any more than I already have. I’ll let the shop deal with it on Thursday since they were supposed to fix the leak the first time.

Get a Quickjack. They're great.

I’m still seriously considering it. But for this, it’s not a matter of being able to get under the car. I just don’t feel like working on it. I did that enough when I was younger and have no desire to continue that, outside of brake work. Same reason I’ll never own another manual car - no desire.

Oh, come on. Manuals are a blast to drive. Just not in the winter.

Doesn't really make a difference. It's completely second nature for me.
What is blowing my mind right now is after 20 years of driving I am trying to teach myself to left foot brake and it's not going well at all.
I just don't have the sensitivity to modulate the brake with my left foot to the level required for proper threshold braking.

Decided to get a fresh paint job on my 61. I helped with chrome removal and fiberglass preparation and repair, but no painting for me. I don't have any painting skills or knowledge. Getting a base-clear with the original color of Honduras Maroon. Paint is very expensive. A gallon of PPG of this original color is $875.00. Car is sealed and close to being paint ready to spray. I am very very anal about my cars. My wife says I am a car prick. She is probably right.

I would if not for the fact that I'd have to take everything off the walls, and my first floor is already crowded enough. We're going to wait until Spring and just do it then.Source of the post PAint those walls before you get your floor in!!

You've got seven years to catch up.

My friend painting the car said the paint can be thinned to make about 2 gallons which he said should be more then enough. It looked OK before, but I can hardly wait to see what it will look like with a nice paint and clear coat finish.<swoons>

I personally don't care about painting the garage. My wife is the one who recommended doing so, so if she forgets about it in the spring, it'll stay the way it is.

I am also looking into getting my garage floor coated. Here is a pic from a couple years ago. I gotta blame NTP66 for putting it in my head.

Ignoring the Miata (sorry ), your cars deserve it.Source of the post I gotta blame NTP66 for putting it in my head.

Is this normal: When you turn the wheel in Mrs Tif's car (mostly at relatively low speeds and with high steering lock) you can feel bits moving through the firewall/floorboard under your feet.

The MGA and the TR6 are gone. replaced with a Healey 3000, 1966 Mustang and the 1961 Vette. I bought the Miata new in 1991 and would hate to part with it. It runs and handles great. Extremely fun to drive. Only has 32,000 miles and air conditioning.Ignoring the Miata (sorry ), your cars deserve it.Source of the post I gotta blame NTP66 for putting it in my head.

I mean, the Vette alone makes your case. A gorgeous car deserves a gorgeous floor.

we went to the car show this weekend. overall, busier than i remember but it seems like the participation from the manufacturers was less. the actual show was on the 2nd floor where historically it spanned both (its been a few years since ive been). the technology in new cars is pretty awesome

Yeah, the Vette is my favorite. Not real practical but fun to drive and take to shows and BS with other old car guys.
