I thought someone told me that Hollow Knight had Dark Souls difficulty. It was on my radar unto heard that cuz I got no time for that crap.
I have no idea what that means
Dark Souls is a series for masochists.

If true, it means you basically get punched in the dick repeatedly for no reason. Or in video game terms, you die repeatedly.

that sounds like Rayman for me and I'm a big fan. I see in the reviews they keep calling Hollow Knight a metroidvania or something like that game? Never heard that term

Metroidvania basically means a castlevania style platformer with exploration based on finding items/gear that open new areas.

This is typically a good thing for my tastes... If the game is reasonable.

Side note, anyone play Stardew Valley or Hollow Knight?

I was the one hyping Hollow Knight. It's one of the best games I've played in years, and I recommend it to anyone who has even any interest in Metroid-style platforming/exploration games. I love that game. The music and graphics are both absolutely wonderful, and although there is limited explicit exposition in terms of story, there is a story there if one is paying attention. The story comes through exploration and interaction with NPCs rather than through explicit exposition. This is a game that is way better than most AAA games, and it came from an indie studio that is basically two people and funded the game via Kickstarter.

Parts of the game can be very difficult and frustrating. There will be sections that will make you want to shriek obscenities and hurl your controller across the room. (White Palace. *shudder*) But I've never been all that great at fast-twitch gaming, and I did manage to beat the game and the "true" final boss, although it probably took me something like 30 attempts to do so.

My daughter just turned 5 in October. For Christmas, she got Super Mario Classic for the Wii. She's been loving the original Mario Bros....tonight, she beat 1-1 and 1-2 without losing a life. The longest struggle (no surprise) was getting past the elevators in 1-2, but man I'm proud of her :)

Skip Mario 2 and go to the best of the bunch with Super Mario Brothers 3.

I enjoy the quirkiness of SMB2. It has honestly been at least 15 years since I've played it there is a lot I don't remember

Was Doki Doki Panic (the game Nintendo turned into the US SMB2) ever released in the United States? That would be a neat game to offer as a downloadable.

I always played Toad in SMB2. Fast veggie pulls for the win.

SM2 is my favorite. The beginning of ice level 4-2 with all the guys flying is the best with peach. It's like an artform gliding and landing and ducking and sliding around all of them. Peach is terrific. I go back and forth the her and Luigi

Yeah I forgot how much I enjoyed SM2. Is there a trick to the slot machine game at the end? I don't really care too much if I win, and tried to time it to no avail.

Got up to Gannon dungeon on Zelda NES, but then tried out stardew valley and next thing I know 3 hours passed by. This game might cause some problems. Luckily I've found that I don't like doing anything except farming and mining so I let me daughter do all the people talking.

Last night was the launch of a community driven expedition to the far side of the Milky Way in elite dangerous. It’s split up into 15 waypoints and takes around 2 hours of playtime a week. There are 11k people signed up to do this in a four year old game lol.
Here’s my wing’s rally point before the jump.
