My arms are still long enough to not need them quite yet... I did pick up a magnifier last year for reading really small print though...The need for reading glasses should come soon. I needed them first at 48.

I need to keep one of those handy too. Even with my reading glasses on some food packaging print is too small to read.My arms are still long enough to not need them quite yet... I think I got glasses in either first or second grade. I've only ever worn glasses; I've never been fitted for contacts. I don't like the idea of jamming pieces of plastic into my eye.

Contacts for my eyes have to be weighted unevenly. Every time I blink they slide and then slowly rotate and fall back into position. Yeah, no thanks.

I got glasses in 3rd. I can't do contacts because my innate reaction to anything getting close to my eye is to pull away and I can't retrain it (though I've tried).

Had that same problem until I was about 21/22 forced myself to get contacts. The light test at the doctors office used to be the worst, I'd have to hold my eye open.

This is the second time I've seen this reference today. And the last time was the first I've thought of that moment in years. WEIRD.LBL = Tom Poti

I am really comfortable around contacts, and it has gotten me really used to touching my eyes. It takes me about 20 seconds every morning to pop them in, and I generally have a lot of luck using them longer than you are supposed to.

What's a word in English that means like "to spill your guts" or "tell all your troubles" or even confide, but without the secretive connotation...?

Air it out?
Open the floodgates?
Unload baggage?
Those are phrases and probably not helpful.

Yeah...I can only come up with phrases too...it's very annoying to me...we must have a word for that somewhere, there's a verb in Spanish that means this but I can't think of a good 1:1 translation...we have "defenestrate" FFS...

It's close...it might be as close as I get...
I don't feel like divulge has quite as personal of a connotation as I'd like for some reason...and it does lean a little too secretive...I'm not sure if we're gonna get much closer though...

Got readers at age 46. Realized I needed them when I went to the Winking Lizard in Cleveland before a Cavs game and could not read the beer menu.
Unfortunately Since I don’t need them all the time I don’t carry them with me and still can’t read menus in dark restaurants. Bought some of the Thinoptics readers last week - problem solved. Now I don’t have to look like a dork using the flashlight on my phone to read a menu.

So this morning in our cafe at work, I watched a woman mix grits and blueberry oatmeal. She took a big scoop of grits, then the oatmeal, and then a lot of brown sugar and mix it all together.
Blech.
Blech.
