Nevermind, was confusing Harmar and NewKen. God damn it why can't I have nice things.

PIA has the E league, not Harmar (as far as I'm aware)

Full day dek hockey tournament today up in Cranberry. Team made it to the finals and lost.
Unsure if I'm sore because I played 6 games or because it was **** freezing while waiting an hour or 2 between games.

question for you guys that play some form of organized hockey:
how long before the season starts does your league release your schedule?
back story: our league (independent, not run by a rink) has 9 skill divisions and 70 teams. we have an eval skate for new players between seasons (usually around 3 weeks before we begin) and teams looking for players can draft from that pool though some players are ear-marked for certain teams and must be rated at the proper level. we routinely have 65-70 new players show up at each eval skate. 2 of the last 3 seasons we've had enough players left over to make new teams. because of this sometimes we don't get the first month of the schedule until about a week before. we then usually get the remainder of the schedule a few weeks later. basically players are dodinting that they can't set their work travel schedules soon enough causing them to miss games and they want us to figure out a way to release the schedule before we even have the eval skate so I'm curious how other leagues do it.
thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

I think I get our schedule like a month before it starts...somewhere between 3 to 6 weeks...something like that.

Are we talking beer league here? I'm talking college. So there's a lengthy break for us. There's like six months off.
For my over 30 beer league, the schedule changes during the year haha...

My inline league was an 8 game season and we generally got the schedule going into week 3...

We had our E league new player skate on a Sunday, got rosters the next Thursday, and had a game that Sunday, so only 3 days notice for the new season.
We got a full schedule sometime before NYD

yes, sorry. I should've been more specific. adult beer league. there's basically 3 leagues in town and the other 2 are run by the rinks. the rink-run leagues have been notoriously bad with schedules, including scheduling PLAYOFF games with 24 hours notice. Are we talking beer league here? How hard is it to coordinate your team to wear the same color jerseys? My team is red, and everyone wears a red jersey. We play a team wearing black.. they have a guy wearing a 25% black jersey and 75% orange jersey. We tell the ref that this will be annoying before the game even starts (we even complained about it the last time we played them but the ref told us he couldn't do anything because it wasn't at the beginning of the game), so the guy just wears his jersey inside out, and guess what he still looked like he was on our team. Biggest kicker is that he was their captain!

Yeah, I don't really care if the jerseys don't match...but it's gotta be close so that it's not annoying, I agree...I don't carry a jersey of every color...but I can get close or I borrow one so I don't look like a pigeon...I'm big on periph vision when I play, I need the color flash to make sense...

We wear white and green. Played yellow, but someone on yellow was wearing black.
Really confusing when some of the greens are dark enough to look like black.

We picked Carolina blue because nobody else in the league had anything close so we could wear them when we were both home and away. Almost always worked out until some new team came in and one of their guys had a royal blue jersey so they demanded we 'switch' to jerseys we don't have. Ended up with both teams wearing a collection of mismatched ****. Was a really lame game.

I'm playing in the Labatt tournament with some of my league teammates.
We got a chance to play a game at PPG tonight because they overbooked the tournament and needed to schedule games outside the weekend.
I've been irrationally excited since midnight.

NICE! I had the chance to play a handful of times at the Thrashers arena. we always played after the Thrashers game so the ice was always bad. if you've never played in an NHL arena before be prepared for REALLY tall boards and benches.I'm playing in the Labatt tournament with some of my league teammates.

That's awesome, also nothing for irrational about being excited for that.
