Seriously. Instantly in the yearly rotation of Christmas movies going forward. One of the best Santa's ever. I laughed the whole way through and even teared up a few times. It's the kind of classic that would have destroyed in theaters when we were kids.Seriously?

Good to know. I saw it and thought this can't be good. It's going into the rotation!

Hmm, the IMDB and RT scores are both considerably higher than I was expecting too. Definitely looks like something for ages 9 or 10 and up?

My 6 year old loved it, a couple hell and damns, but other than that it's great for all families. I think it's rated tv pg. Reading more about it last night and they really put together something great. This will make my top 10 of the year and I think Kurt should be nominated for an Oscar.Hmm, the IMDB and RT scores are both considerably higher than I was expecting too. I think my wife and I will watch it first and be the judge. Our daughter just turned 5 so I think she's probably a little young.

Also, TIL that Chris Columbus was born in Northern Cambria. Now that's random as F.

Chris Columbus said he wanted to start making movies like he did in the 80s and he nailed it.

wow, that's pretty cool. Good call with watching it first, my kid is subject to the older brother and sister syndrome so he definitely watches stuff that maybe other kids his age shouldn't? It's so good, that I'd highly recommend it as a good date movie. I'm already looking forward to watching it again! Also, TIL that Chris Columbus was born in Northern Cambria. Now that's random as F.

deal of the dayFinished the trilogy. It got kinda stale but still was what it was. Action in close quarters. Still it was all the same formula. Get Bourne, activate generic “asset” (Clive Owen and Karl Urban we hardly knew you) then Bourne kicks butt. Finally watched the entire Bourne Identity. Very good. Now to continue with the series.
I’ll always watch them now when they come on TV but did it really warrant 5 movies and counting?

I wish Disney would have stayed with the John Carter series. I don't know anything about this Artemis Fowl fellow.

Watched Hitchcock's hollywood debut Rebecca last night. What an achievement for a debut; Joan Fontaine is very cute, but man did Mrs. Danvers creep me out. That opening shot of Manderley was incredible. Also cool seeing George Sanders in old movies and not being able to separate him from the Shere Khan voice.

It's been years since I have sat down and watched one of my favorite Christmas movies, but First Blood was incredible. That soundtrack is so good.

I’m still not even sure who she complained about on set. She was surprisingly good in the movie, too.

Haha, i always thought there was a Christmas aspect to this movie and everyone disagreed, but I don't think those people have actually sat down and watched it recently. There may not be Christmas music, but it's full of Christmas imagery throughout the entire thing. I don't care one way or another, I'm just glad it exists. Good flick (man are those cops dumb)Poor take imo. Good movie, tho. It's been years since I have sat down and watched one of my favorite Christmas movies, but First Blood was incredible.

Also after reading this, yeah it's a Christmas movie.
Some weak connections could absolutely be made here. The director and set designer included Christmas decorations for a reason. Is it to draw parallels to Mary and Joseph, who also walked into a town and were not welcome? Is it to drive home the idea that John Rambo was a man, a soldier, a savior who was not accepted by his own people? Is it just for irony, the town being named Hope and being destroyed utterly for Christmas? Maybe none of the above, maybe all of the above.

Those are some week-ass arguments. Simply setting a movie at Christmas and including associated imagery does not 'a Christmas movie' make. That's not how any of this works.
