The only difference between the two is the horrific scale, but that's simply a numbers play. (There aren't enough Scientologists in the world to even make up a decent ZIP code.) They have the same pretty ripe history of dealing with child abuse of all kinds the same way the Church did: Don't tell authorities, don't cause undue outside interest in our affairs, sweep it under the rug. There's little worse than a pedophile, IMO, so I will not retract my statement. Not pedos but I have read they protect guys when they sexually assualt/rape women. But do they protect pedophiles? The fundamental tenants of Scientology are no more or less loopy than any other Western religion imo, even allowing for all the Xenu you-get-your-own-planet-when-you-die stuff. That isn't any more silly than zombie Jesus or Jonah or 72 virgins.
However, they are a criminal enterprise operation and quasi terrorist group. So yes, they are worse than being Catholic imo.

Not sharing the story because the headline is worth it sans all context.
"The Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie is so grim, extras were reportedly forced to pee on subway tracks"

It also helps that they were locked in the train car...

$16 million for a period Oscar-bait movie is hardly a flop.

I went in with zero expectations and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It’s pretty fun.this review is all I needed. I won't be seeing it in the theater, but am looking forward to seeing itI know this is surprising, but apparently Venom really sucks.
k#Venom is like a buddy comedy in which one of the buddies has to prevent the other from biting people’s heads off, which is another way of saying I liked it.
this is also good
https://www.slashfilm.com/venom-early-buzz/I’m *fascinated* with VENOM. The cast seems to all know they’re in a darker superhero movie, except Tom Hardy who is basically remaking Jim Carrey’s Liar Liar. I kinda loved watching this movie, in a Rocky Horror type of way. At one point Tom Hardy and Venom make out.

Anyone watch The Apostle on Netflix?
I watched beyond the black rainbow and while my wife thought it was the worst movie ever, I happened to laugh a lot (not sure if I was supposed to) and I think it would make a fine selection for mystery science theater in the best way possible. I don't even know where to start with this one, but I think it was wonderful and I can't wait for Mandy.

There was nothing in the trailers for that movie that made me want to see it. The trailers looked dry and boring so I can only expect that the movie is 2 hours of nap-time.

Why does everything need to be politicized? The movie is getting rave reviews, but like most serious adult movies in theaters these days, that usually doesn't generate ticket sales.

Dunno, but I'm not surprised to see their IMDB/RT ratings.
