I am pretty sure I've complained about this before, but even so it bears repeating. On Route 100 South in Chester County, it eventually merges into 202 South, and two lanes merge into one as it goes into the 202 on-ramp.
Anyone that grasps basic driving concepts and rules of the road knows that you are supposed to USE BOTH LANES TO MERGE POINT. Without fail, every fcking morning, you have a line of cars a mile and a half long all stopped in the right lane because everyone obsessively merges early, and the left lane is wide open. Because I understand that you aren't supposed to merge that early like a dummy, I will move up the left lane at a safe speed until the actual merge. This morning, some butch woman in a Subaru swung her car out in my lane and just stopped there to block me; the road was wet and I slid about 15 feet, almost hitting her. All so she could make a point that ISN'T EVEN FCKING CORRECT. People stopping and panic merging early into the right lane is how congestion and accidents are caused.
A woman was murdered at this same merge only a few years ago. Because you can't count on drivers to know the fcking rules of the road, I actually submitted a request to PennDOT to have the "use both lanes" signs added to that road. People in this stupid state are so conditioned to move over extra early out of some misguided sense of courtesy, when it only makes things worse for everyone. If you schmucks want to merge early, be my guest. And if I hit you because you pull your car out to block the road, guess who will be at fault?
