He's made several comments about the "haters" giving him fuel and how he doesn't get coverage compared to the other stars on tour. I agree his on course demeanor is cyborg-like.yeah imo koepka does not emote so its hard to see how he would rub anyone the wrong way.

It's pretty fun when the best players in the world are allowed to put birdies on the board and battle it out down the stretch. From a competition standpoint, I don't think you could ask for too much out of this Sunday. The roars around the course gave away what Tiger was doing even when he wasn't on the hole I was on. It was so crazy that the scoreboard operators would get loud cheers when they put another Tiger birdie on the board. In the end, it was Koepka going into his Erin Hills silent assassin mode with those birdies on 15 & 16 (keep in mind he missed short birdies at 12 & 13 or it could have been worse) and Tiger's inability to get it done on the 17th hole on both Saturday & Sunday that ended up being the margin of victory.
As for Koepka's personality...he admitted that he was a hothead growing up and as a collegian. Going to the European Challenge Tour humbled him a bit and he realized that he needed to cool his demeanor on the course. He says that he's intensely focused when he's out there and he's very much an introvert when it comes to letting people in. He's not Dufner-like in his demeanor on the course but it's that laser focus in majors that has led to his success.

Agree about the course imo. there were definitely testers but it seemed like if you got your ball in the fairway you could go balls out and go for birdies if you so desired. that pin placement on the par 3 (13th? 14?) was really tight on the right side but guys were going at it anyway. very fun round to watch

I thought the course was fantastic. The rough was tough in a lot of spots, so it was a scenario where great drives were often rewarded but errors had consequences. What Tiger did on the Front 9 yesterday was just something to behold...didn't hit one fairway and shot 32.Agree about the course imo. there were definitely testers but it seemed like if you got your ball in the fairway you could go balls out and go for birdies if you so desired. that pin placement on the par 3 (13th? 14?) was really tight on the right side but guys were going at it anyway. very fun round to watch
Like I said yesterday, that high shot he hit off of the cart path, followed by the birdie putt, is the loudest I've cheered in a long time. Was definitely fist pumping on my couch.

I went to top golf recently. It was a pretty nice experience. I'd never been to one. The only thing I would change is next time I will request a bay on the second or third floor.

Each time I went to the one here, they've only put me on the third floor. One was for a group outing, once was me and a few coworkers going on an off-Friday, and the third was showing up on an early morning. It definitely makes that chip shot into the 25 yard circle interesting. Sometimes I get the right bounce, sometimes it will roll in, and other times it will bounce and literally die after 5-10 ft.

Do you bring your own clubs? All the pictures on the site are just well dressed millennials laughing and not playing so it's hard to tell.

Optional.
They typically have a set there at the tee for use. If you want to use it as any form of practice bringing your own isn't frowned upon or unusual.
I have a fear of heights, and every time I've been on the second or third level. This means I tend to hook every shot because I refuse to transfer my weight through (which is a swing failure I never have on course).

Yeah, I'd prefer to bring my own clubs but I don't want to be the guy at the casual track day with a full racing suit either. Maybe I'll bring 4-5 and leave the bag in the car.

If I had a cart bag, I wouldn't bring it. If it's a typical walker I'm all in.
The house clubs aren't horrible. They're knock-off Big Bertha shovels, and I haven't been to a Top Golf where I could hit driver and not just have it land in the net yet.

i think you have to use their clubs. they don't go as far because the range isn't as long as a typical range
Everything golf
Yeah, I read the website and you can either use theirs or your own. They'll stow your clubs if you're waiting for a bay.
Anyway, you can't reserve adjacent bays, even in advance, without signing up as a party with a food package. Cheapest is $400 for two hours and you have to get there by 9:30am.
By comparison, two bays for mid-day for three hours would run $205 which is what I had planned on.

I just advanced to the Tour Pro tier, and had my first #1 finish in one of the weekly single play tournaments. Movin' on up!

You can bring your own clubs. The bay I was at even had storage racks for 3 bags. That said the clubs they had were just fine for me. They have a driver, 3 wood, 3 hybrid, I think a 4, 6, 8, 9, and PW... and they have both womens and mens.Yeah, I read the website and you can either use theirs or your own. Also to make a reservation it costs $50, non-refundable. So your party package isn't terribly off from doing it a la carte. Then add on the "lifetime membership" crock too.
Since I totally should be working right now... your $760, 2 hour, 2 bay package comes with $400 in food, $60 in 'lifetime memberships' for the 12 people, and $180 worth of bay rental. So you're getting charged an extra 20 bucks in the grand scheme to be side-by-side (when you factor in $50 per bay x2 for the reservation).
It's pretty expensive. But I had a lot of fun. I wonder how I would fare being sort of drunk on the third floor

Yeah, I was just looking for something cool to try. Though I am now thinking about doing this as a 'birthday' kind of thing which would justify the expense. The problem there is my birthday is in December. Maybe I'll do it over fall break. I dunno.

The chick there working said the bays "wont get under 55 degrees" in the winter. I see no possible way for that to happen and attribte it to her being from Shreveport LA, never experiencing a PA winter.
All that said we had a one-bay rental for 2 of us for an hour and a half (in the evening, top rate) and our total was 120 after tip. We had around $45 worth of beverages.

I typically bring my bag, but I can probably get away with using only a GW, 6I, and a hybrid. My logic is that it's a lot harder for me to forget a whole bag of clubs than it is to accidentally leave three clubs behind.
Between Vegas and Salt Lake City, those were my two favorite views as the backdrop. Those four big boxes on the Vegas pic are huge TVs. Pittsburgh? It has I-79 on the right and some trees. Vegas is also 1 of 8 places that has the TopTracer stats, which shows ball speed, heights, ball spin, hang time and curve, similiar to that of what they've been showing on TV recently.
They also have a veterans' discount of 10%, which I think is good on golfing, food, etc.

They have lefty clubs and tees. There's a better view in the second pic.

They don't have TopTracer in Pittsburgh? That sucks. Love using it at Cool Springs.

I'm actually surprised at the number of places that do not have it.
Next time I head down, I'm gonna ask about it.
