Heading to Chicago on Monday for business. Will be there 4 days. Any recommendations from 5AFers who have been there?
I agree with the architecture tour. Be sure to walk around the Tribune building on Michigan Ave. (Magnificent Mile) right on the river.
I’m more low rent, so a Chicago Dog or Italian Beef from Downtown Dogs at Rush and Chicago. Pippin’s Tavern next door is a good locals bar with a nice variety of beers...and you can order food from next door and they will deliver it.
Just around the corner from there is Streeters Pub downstairs. DD will also bring food there. If nothing else, stop in here and use the men’s room. Trust me. It’s interesting.
Hancock Tower is good especially on a nice day. And the Chicago Water Tower is one of the few buildings that survived the great fire.
Rudy’s down by The Bean serves a great burger with fresh cut fries and cold beer. And yes, you should see the Bean.
