First ever round in the 70s yesterday at Glengarry! Shot 77, one birdie, 9 pars and 8 bogeys. I also three putted on two par 3s where I was within 12 feet on both after my tee shot. My usual foursome was there and we are all always in the 80s-90s and they were going nuts cheering me on with about 4 holes to go. Was a sweet experience.

Well done. Nothing like breaking thru that barrier for the first time. And you had room to spare. My hope was to have a tap-in for 79 when that time and fortunately, that’s what I got. Nice that you didn’t buckle under the pressure on the last 3-4 holes.

That's awesome. Big congrats. My first four-ish legit chances to break 90 for the first time resulted in complete blowups over the last 3 to 4 holes that nuked my chances. Can't even imagine the disastrous situations I would put myself in if I had a chance to break 80.

I'm currently one club over the limit. Thinking of moving one of the woods out (I can adjust the hybrid to match the 5 wood loft) and getting better wedge gapping.
Your PW is 44 degrees, so you need a 49-50 degree gap wedge (I would lean toward the 49), a 54 degree SW and a 59-60 degree lob wedge.

Played my second round of golf on Monday, a charity scramble. On the second hole, which was a 390 yard par four, I piped my drive about 230-240 (little downhill), played a 7 iron into the green to within six feet, and drained the birdie putt. To clarify my ball was the best ball on both of the first two shots, so it was a "true" birdie since I played it as it lied both times.

After playing utterly horrible my first time out this year (like, 110 bad), putting a hole or two together like that tells me that I have some talent there that is lurking under the surface, but I just don't play often enough and really need to get lessons. It sucks :(

Callaway razr fit extreme driver
Nike sasquatch2 3 wood

Callaway razr x NG irons 4 thru gap wedge (49 degree)
Maxfli c3 52 degree and 56 degree wedges

Nike unitized Leo putter

I love love love my clubs, but will probably need to replace the Maxfli wedges in the near future. I wouldn't mind adding a hybrid 3i but can't imagine using it that often. Putter needs regripped.

Driver -- TaylorMade RBZ
3 & 5 wood -- Maxfli (they're about 12 years old but still feel great)
4+ Hybrid -- Nickent 3DX Ironwood (only really use it when in higher rough or weeds)
4-PW -- Ping I20
56 degree -- Titleist Vokey
Putter -- TaylorMade White Smoke blade. I'm known amongst my friends and co-workers for putter misuse. This one will never get misused because I like it too much.

I can't give up my Nike unitized putter. The regrip might be a superstroke pistol? but the putter itself provides so much feedback. I have an odyssey white hot that I 'gave' to my wife. She golfs once a year. It looks real nice next to my old Tommy Armour 845s and the old Callaway steelhead 3.

The Steelhead 3 was the first club I ever bought with my own money. I still hit it if she comes with me to the range.

No cars. Just random holes filled with sand.

Were some of yinz playing WGT Golf? I think this is where I first heard about that app... I just lost my 60+ day streak of games played and had to start back at 1... ugh.

First round of the Open today...Tiger finishes even par...not great, not bad. Strong showing from the South African contingent. Not a ton of golfers under par.

On Monday, after I hit my regular shot into the par 3 13th, I'm planning on pulling out my putter and seeing how far I can slapshot it. There's a clear path from the tee to the green. Jason Day was laughing yesterday because he was taking an 8-iron off the tee on a par 4 because anything more would bring the burn into play on the hole he was on (3rd).

Rain expected in the morning tomorrow. Didn't think there'd be a bad side of the draw this week but it's looking like the late-earlys are going to have the rough stretch. No one in the last 13 groups today finished under par and they're the ones that will have to deal with most of the rain in the morning.

I think there were 4 or 5 people on here playing. I'm in the process of downloading it right now.

I was doing Golf Clash for awhile, but it takes forever to regain money and playing the lower tournaments isn't as fun when you're already max'ed out on points for that level. I still chip away at it, but I don't play it as much as I used to.

I play occasionally. Mostly just the stroke play tournaments.

The only time I played another person, they were trying waaaayyyy too hard to talk ****. It was kind of embarrassing for them. I was drunk so I played along and got in a shot or two of my own (I dropped a "Maybe we should get you a library card, so you could learn how to read a putt," and that got him to be quiet for a hole or so), and was 3-up dormie before he quit and tried to get me to forfeit.

I think I'm fine just playing solo.

Way to go Kovy!
I played for the first time in 10 months yesterday. I three putted the 9th to post 40, which tied my best previous round. That after draining a 20 footer to save par on the 8th.
(Two years ago I only needed a bogey on the 18th to break 40 coming back in and put two balls in the drink)

Then the 10 months caught up with me and I shot 47 on the back. :slug:

Scoring in the afternoon has been pretty stellar so far. The late/early groups kinda got screwed.
