My mil is coming out to visit this weekend. Last few times she’s come out she brought me stuff from Platform Beer Co. I know they just released a bunch of saisons and neipas. Hopefully she’s going to continue the trend of bringing me presents.

Russian River Brewing is legit. Two beers - an IPA and one 'inspired by' Duvel that certainly tasted the part. Probably two dozen guys came through to fill up their growlers while we were there. Food was completely forgettable.
But my favorite beer of the weekend was the Cooperage IPA at the ramen place.

The "Brut IPA" sounds like a fancy name for the ale equivalent of a "lite" lager beer. Light malt? Check. Adjuncts? Check. Added amylase to reduce the sugar content? Check. The differences appear to be: (1) they aren't also taking steps to reduce the alcohol content; and (2) they are going for an even "drier" beer than most light lagers; (3) the beer actually has hops in it.

My hops plants have started to emerge from the soil and have begun to climb up the ropes/cable to the top of the makeshift clothesline I put in the garden. Probably won't get any hops this year, but I fully expect my neighbors to start asking questions.
Started my second attempt at homebrewing with a Belgian tripel. I love how the house smells like hops and malts for a few days after the brew.

I was just looking at seekabrew to see the distribution of Bell's, and I feel bad for WV.
