Seeing "The Division 2" gameplay with their garbage fake player communication is so cringe-worthy.

Yeah I watched that too. It was awful. Luckily I was watching The Doc so he made it tolerable.

I wanted to like the first one desperately. I think a game like that and that style is fun, but I'll absolutely be waiting for reviews after it comes out because the first one was a major cluster.

Reddit is extremely butthurt about the soldier customization on BFV. This is something that most of the community has wanted for years, but conveniently forgotten about on Reddit. Evidently, that community is now really worried about the historical accuracy in a video game series that features reviving dead soldier with a shot of morphine and parachuting out of jets to blow up another jet and then re-enter the first jet. And so on.

And then there are the female and minority character models...

I just want weapon customization. I think they've gone too far elsewhere - but I haven't seen how you can separate friendly vs. enemy players. I doubt they've gone too far on that end, but we'll see.

Yeah, I agree. It looks more like Fallout 1942 than a Battlefield title. Hopefully, they are just hyping the customization for EA Play/E3 and early marketing and at release that stuff is tuned way down.

Some really interesting game mechanic changes in this game though. Any squad member can revive, but only medics revive full health (and quickly). Limited auto heal, except with a medkit. Limited ammo for all classes and vehicles (!) Vehicles will have to get resupplied, including airplanes. Suppression doesn’t throw off aim.

I've yet to find a gaming subreddit that actually likes said subreddit's game. It's a constant stream of complaints, hate posts, calling out the developer, threats to quit playing, etc.

It's happened way too often that I'm really enjoying a particular game and I decide to seek out the subreddit only to find out that the game I'm enjoying is actually god awful and the developers are trash who don't listen to their players.

It's why I mostly avoid Destiny subreddit unless there's actual in-game news to talk about. But even then it just turns into an absolute salt fest.

Ha, I never played the DLC for TLOU because I was so wrecked by the main campaign of the game. I was like, "This is the most amazing gaming experience I've ever had! But I don't really want to go back to that world anytime soon, k thx, bye."

It's interesting that the way they're presenting the game this time around is that regular old humans are the villains, not Infected. Which is in keeping with the first game, I guess, in that the most awful terribad people left in the world had nothing to do with cordyceps.

(Naughty Dog stuff was super duper siloed and need-to-know, so I had no inside visibility on this title before getting shown the door at PS.)

I thought the Fallout one generally did. Actually, no, that's not true. They love 3 and NV and hate 4.

I see a bunch of people are upset they had the female character from The Last of Us being a lesbian.

Man, I'm really happy to be getting a proper Devil May Cry 5 and a Resident Evil 2 remake in the same year. Those 2 games alone made E3 for me. Capcom is killing it lately. Not long ago I thought they were heading down the road of Konami.

And then there is AC Odyssey, which looks crazy good.

Ellie was more or less outed in the TLOU DLC. This is not news, nor a big deal.

My guess is these are the same people who are crying that Star Wars is no longer for just white dudes.

While watching the Fortnite Pro AM tournament, I saw something kinda eye-opening yesterday regarding Streamer/Youtube personalities.

The Pro AM was a charity tournament with teams of 2 consisting of a pro gamer and a "celebrity". Every competitor had to walk through the crowd to get on-stage, and even though guys like, New Day, Joel McHale, Carl from Walking Dead, and pro-athletes were there, the guy who got hounded the most (if at all) was Ninja. They had to surround him with bodyguards because he got absolutely swarmed by kids. It was kinda nuts.

Marshmello had some bodyguards as well. Doesn't surprise me ninja had bodyguards, dude makes around a million dollars a month.

I saw a story the other day that Ninja (iirc) took a 2-day break from streaming and lost 40,000 subscribers. I can't imagine that kind of pressure.

Yeah the poor guy, it knocked him down to 175k subs and only a monthly income of $612,500.

Let's not act like Ninja and other game streamers haven't earned their subs and income. The ones who are successful have worked their asses off to get there.

Don't get me wrong he's earned it. I think it took him 6 or 7 years to blow up but clearing a million dollars per month playing video games is a pretty sweet deal.

I would never, ever ever want to be a streamer. The pressure is insane on those guys...they ALWAYS have to be "on". 99.9% of them wash out.

But that's why I like the niche streamers who are just there to play the game and shoot the ****. They aren't breaking 20k subs but they still have nice communities within the game communities.
