Pens. Flyers. Game 3.
Flyers fans aren't blessed with the level of self-awareness that has overcome Caps fans in recent years.

Murray is like a sick 9-1 after a playoff loss with like 1.5 GAA. Not losing 2 games in a row is a HUGE advantage in the playoffs.Glad to see that the Pens' regular season road woes didn't carry over into the playoffs.
Matt Murray has not lost a playoff series. I have no clue what's going on in that dude's head, but got damn, he was built for the SC playoffs

The game he lost was Nashville game 4, right? We outplayed them in that one too. Guentzel elevates the puck a few inches on some of his infinity chances and we got 10-0 going on.

Lol Philly columnist guy. Clarke is the 564th player I'd compare sid to. Translation, nobody outside of Philly gives a whit about Clarke anymore, and sid is already twice the player Clarke ever was.
Back to your cage, flophat.

Yeah, the Clarke comparison was clearly just throwing a bone to the dopey old callers on WIP.

I don't compare them stylistically really...but if it was all over now, Crosby and Clarke are probably both top 10 but not top 5 centers in NHL history...Clarke was really, really good. Arguably the best two-way center in history...

Whoever those 2 are, they are worse than the people they’re mocking.
The first comment was thoughtful and 100% accurate. But sure...let’s ridicule it as a demonstration of taking the high ground?

That's just crazy talk. A half dozen better two-way centers come to mind just off the top of my head: Gretzky, Mario, Messier, Jean Beliveau, Stan Mikita, Forsberg, Yzerman, Joe Sakic, maybe even Ron Francis. I'd take any of those guys ahead of Clarke.Clarke was really, really good. Arguably the best two-way center in history...

That's the first time I've seen Gretzky or Mario being described as two-way centers.

Let's just say **** Bobby Clarke and move on.

That was bad. And yes, that first comment is honestly what we all wish more Flyers fans were like. When I first saw the Youtube posted I thought that MORKLE had posted it @slappybrownWhoever those 2 are, they are worse than the people they’re mocking.

Clarke was better defensively than all listed players. He was the common factor of greatness on 74, 75, 76 and 80 finalists...teams with no #1 d-man...Parent didn't do anything for them in 76. He was insane defensively. Only Frank Nighbor could wrestle the title of best defensive+dominant center away from him. That's just crazy talk. A half dozen better two-way centers come to mind just off the top of my head: Gretzky, Mario, Messier, Jean Beliveau, Stan Mikita, Forsberg, Yzerman, Joe Sakic, maybe even Ron Francis. The offense that he brought is obvious, easy to look up...including being the main reason his winger broke the playoff record for goals and is the only non-goalie to win the Conn Smythe in a losing effort...his peers and coaches clearly saw his value to a Flyers team that owned a lot of real estate under his watch...

There were, what, 12 teams then? And goalies still wore six sweaters instead of pads?

Seriously, not that Clarke was a bad player by any means, but the type of goonery allowed in the 70s, along with the kind of players that the Flyers surrounded Clarke with, allowed him to be as good as he was. But as I said earlier, there are at least a half dozen, and probably a dozen, players who were better two-way centers than Clarke. One could even argue that Lindros was a better two-way center than Clarke.
