@Troy Loney by your favorite sportswriterSoon after that, the sons of Mike Tomlin and outside linebackers coach Joey Porter, transferred [from North Catholic]. So did Porter’s nephew.
It’s safe to say that there aren’t many people in the North Catholic community who are sorry to see the parents go.
By all accounts, the kids weren’t the problem.
Joey Porter was a big problem.
He made a spectacle of himself at home and on the road, even though he was with his head coach at the time.
During a game at Riverside in October, Porter ran onto the field to badger the officials. Remember, he’s a Steelers assistant coach and only a North Catholic parent.
North Catholic was penalized 15 yards and the officials asked the North Sewickley police to remove Porter. According to eyewitnesses, Porter told the cops, “If you want me to leave it’s gonna take more than just you.”
The officers working the game had to call for extra help.
Porter finally calmed down when the referee threatened North Catholic with a forfeit.
Mike Tomlin was also at the game, but not involved in the disturbance. But Tomlin did, on at least one occasion, according to a witness, pay a visit to the North Catholic locker room and drop multiple F-bombs while trashing the officials.
And during a home game at J.C. Stone Field, Tomlin and Porter were less than cooperative with Allegheny County police when they were asked to move away from a fence where they were obstructing the view of some fans.
The game ended before the cops had to remove them.

I read that last week. This offseason is incredibly TMZ so far, I think that makes it way more fun.

Would these articles would be written if Joey Porter and Tomlin were white?
The answer is no.
And I want Tomlin to be fired

I don't think the narrative is racism. I see the narrative as these guys being clowns at a high school football game.

Steigerwald is objectively a POS. I think his being a dipshit is independent of race.

Steigerwald believes a guy "asked for it" when he was stabbed at a baseball game because he was wearing the visiting team's jersey. He's a special kind of idiot.

Steelers wide receiver Sammie Coates underwent surgery to repair fractures and tendon damage in his left ring and index fingers, per source. Coates -- who said on social media that his surgery went 'great' -- posted 421 yards in his first five games of 2016, but 14 yards over the final 11 games as he dealt with the injury. Coates planned to rehab the injury to avoid surgery but the plan changed recently.

My Cincy buddy sent me this article about Rooney II saying Bradshaw is wrong about Tomlin: http://www.espn.com/blog/pittsburgh-ste ... -great-job
I tried explaining to him how Bradshaw has been feuding with the city for like 25 years, he didn't start doing team events again until something like 10 years ago.

Bradshaw gonna Bradshaw. Just need to find a Cowher quote to complete the trifecta.Add to that the critical remarks Bradshaw, now a CBS announcer, made on the air about Noll last season--calling him a "jerk" and suggesting the game had passed him by.

"I think Terry felt betrayed and rejected by the Steelers," said former center Ray Mansfield.
Though Bradshaw and Noll--and in fact Bradshaw and the Steelers fans--often wrangled over his play and his public statements, the falling out became complete when surgery the team did not authorize failed to repair Bradshaw's injury.
"He felt like he had really done something for them, and they had turned their backs on him," said Mansfield. "He ended up walking away bitter."
Bradshaw has language in his contract as an analyst for CBS that states he is not required to do Steelers games.
The wounds are so deep that Rooney's telephone calls to Bradshaw to congratulate him on his selection to the Hall of Fame went unreturned.
And Bradshaw has acknowledged that Noll did not call him, either.
"He doesn't care," Bradshaw told USA Today. "He did not respond to interview requests from a Pittsburgh paper.
"That's all right. I couldn't handle it if he did call. It would be too uncomfortable.
"The thing is, if someone locked us in a room, I really think we could settle this."

Does Cowher have a history of bitterness with respect to the Steelers? I don't recall hearing much from him about the team and when I watched pregame shows in what seems like a lifetime ago the other mongoloids like Shannon sharpe would joke that he would always pick the Steelers in ther pick em games and he was a homer. My Cincy buddy sent me this article about Rooney II saying Bradshaw is wrong about Tomlin: http://www.espn.com/blog/pittsburgh-ste ... -great-job
