Curious on your most valuable opinion, fellow forumites. Points of particular interest consist of comfort level and durability.

Have had both. I tend to prefer the mesh one because it's more breathable.

In my office, I have black-fabric Leap Chair by Steelcase

I actually had a specialist to take measurements and custom-adjust it for me. It has been awesome.

I wish there was some furniture store around that had all these high brand chairs to try. In the past couple years, I must have tried 100 or 200 chairs at different stores and 99% of them sucked. I find it difficult to get a great fit. I'm fit and proportional - no jokes.

Yeah, I got the sample chair when they built the new building I'm in. I have a feeling that I'm going to have this same chair in 25 years when I retire. :(

The type of chair I have actually makes a huge difference for me. If I get the wrong kind of chair it causes, er, vascular inflammation issues. I have to be very particular. This is basically what I use except it's cloth and not leather.

I bought the computer chair I use at home from Target for something like 30 bucks. The gas piston died a while back, so I bought a bunch of brass pipe clamps and clamped them around the piston so they hold the seat up.

Do mesh chairs stretch over time? You know, where the ass rests.

I currently have a leather chair I paid $350 for, but it's more like a thing you lay in to watch something. It's very cool to watch TV in it for a while, but it's not a good chair for office.

My main chair now is mesh. It's very comfortable and great for the farts, of course. Nice chairs got my interest. What I find is how difficult it is to match one perfectly to your body. I need strong lower back support and good luck finding a chair that has the thing pushing on "the spot" where you need it. I found mine, but it's difficult. Many chairs are not ergonomic. And if they are, you may not be the right size for it. Sounds silly, but it's hard to find a chair that fits you really well and allows you to sit in comfort for hours.

Not every lawyer makes big coin. Lawyers are the biggest firms make big salaries, but people who work at smaller firms (and in smaller cities) make much less money. Heck, lawyers working jobs like public defender in a rural county can sometimes struggle to make $30,000. I work in a mid-size firm, and Pittsburgh is a mid-size city. I'm certainly not claiming to be poor, but I'm nowhere near six figures either.

Also, I'm a penny-pinching cheapskate. :) Yesterday was a dress-down day, and I was wearing khakis and a long-sleeve shirt. It occurred to me that except for my shoes (ordered from Amazon), every other article of clothing I was wearing was something I bought at Kmart.
